      Annie checked her shotgun was loaded and the safety off. She’d heard enough of the crazy talk about aliens from her neighbors that she could no longer considered it actually crazy. Alien abductions were definitely happening in this part of the country, she was sure of it. And those green white lights she just saw descending into her field matched the descriptions she’d heard from local eye-witnesses.

      She wasn’t going to let the aliens do the depraved things she’d heard about. Annie couldn’t understand why anyone would do those things, especially with aliens. She had her gun and her wits about her. That’s all she needed to send any invading aliens on their quick path out of town.

      It wasn’t hard to find the landing site, even though the sun had set hours ago.
