About this ebook

Part One of the Hard Hat Series

Tim’s got a problem with his new job as a carpenter. His foreman, Gary Zucker, is just too damned sexy. With a mustache, hairy arms, and a solid gut, Gary exudes power and confidence, and it’s driving Tim crazy. When Gary notices Tim’s attraction, he figures it’s all over. The foreman will probably fire him for having the wrong kind of wood.

Then Gary surprises him. He shows he knows how to be the boss in more than one way. The question remains if this will be a one time thing, or something more. Tim’s got one chance to show the man how good he can be, before his dream man slips through his fingers.

Pressing on the cut to stop the bleeding, Tim blew out a breath. Only a tiny cut, already sealing itself. He tried again to use the knife, forcing himself to concentrate. Make a straight slice down the marked line, then punch it to make a clean break. That’s what he’d been taught. This time, the drywall behaved, and he smiled, relieved.

He couldn’t help but glance over to see if the foreman was watching.

    He was.

Tim blushed and immediately turned back to what he was doing. Heat traveled along his nerves, which had nothing to do with the blazing sun overhead. He’d seen those dark brown eyes narrow in scrutiny, the twitch of a mustached lip. The foreman, Gary Zucker, looked like he should be starring in a 70’s film about running from cops.

Tim had a weakness for mustaches. It was driving him crazy.

It might not be a glamorous job, and Tim was still young and new to it, just a couple years out of high school. But he liked it. He just wished he could stay focused. Gary was making that difficult for him.

He felt the presence of the foreman as a shadow fell over his remaining block of drywall. Tim swallowed in a throat gone dry and looked up at the man, trying to smile.

Big mistake, he quickly realized. Tim found himself looking at the
