About this ebook

A Noir-ish story set in 1950's England, Dennis and Celia have spent two years having an affair. Her wealthy husband will not grant her a divorce and is determined to make her life a misery. Dennis and Celia devise a plan to get rid of Simon for good. At first, the plan seems foolproof. But nothing is infallible, and Dennis and Celia soon learn that getting rid of Simon wasn't such a good idea after all.

A dark tale with a grisly finality, The Long Drop To Eternity is a short story that noir fans will love.

I am a writer of crime fiction. (I know I look like a Goth but don't hold that against me... :) )I am heavily influenced by the likes of James Sallis, Gil Brewer, Jim Thompson, W.R Burnett, William P. McGivern, Lawrence Block and George V. Higgins. To me, their work was sheer poetry. I fully intend to start writing novels, but for now, I'll be publishing a series of short stories. I will welcome your feedback. Thank you for reading my work.

Celia Banks looked uneasy. She felt uneasy. And it was hardly surprising considering the man she had been having a two-year affair with had just suggested murder. It shocked her to think that Dennis was serious – deadly serious. To look at him he didn’t seem the dangerous kind. He was slim and dapper and intelligent. He was thoughtful and caring and was everything that Simon wasn’t. She had fallen for this man’s charm and his ability to listen to her He made her feel special and when he spoke to her it was like she was the only person in this whole lousy world that mattered. Dennis made her feel secure and happy. He was the man that she should have married. He was kind and considerate. But the man that sat across the table from her now looked different. His eyes were different. His composure and body
