About this ebook

Author V. J. Moore continues his analysis of the Sanctuary and the cell. In volume 3, Resurrection, he describes the many ways in which the “expert Testimony” provided by the Tabernacle of Witness reveals how God rebuilt the Lord’s Body, prior to raising Him from the dead. The analysis extends to the Sacred Furniture, the carvings on the walls of Solomon’s Temple, the two 15-foot statues of Cherubim in the Most Holy Place of the Temple, and the Ark of the Covenant. Moore explains that the Tabernacle was set up inside the First Temple and what that means for interpreting the Biology of the Atonement. In particular, he analyzes changes made to the membranes of the cells of the Lord’s Body, to the structures within the cell called “organelles,” and to the DNA molecule. Moore outlines in detail just how the Glorified Body extracts energy from the spirit through photosynthesis and how the Body’s reliance on carbon and oxygen was changed to reliance on sulfur. These changes, he argues, were absolutely essential to the transformation of the breathing body for Earth into a Spirit-Powered Body for Heaven. Finally, Moore accounts for why the Risen Jesus appeared to glow when He appeared to His disciples and clarifies how the Resurrected Body saves us, both biologically and spiritually.

Includes 66 illustrations.

    PART I—THE SACRED FURNITURE

Our analysis of the Sanctuary continues. We look this time at the Holy Place, its furniture, its wall carvings, and two ornaments associated with it. In all, eight items in the Holy Place that represented structures in the cell. As we shall see, these items are intended to communicate to us how God rebuilt the Temple—the Lord’s Body.

Before we begin, however, I feel a need to rally the troops, so to speak. Perhaps, you are feeling a bit overwhelmed. After all, you began with a desire to understand the Atonement and have found yourself studying Cell Biology, Molecular Biology (the name given to a study of the DNA molecule), and Gene Therapy, of all things. But keep in mind how blessed you are, for the angels longed to look into these things that you are now studying (1 Peter 1:12). Christianity is a biological religion. At the center of Christian religion is a Body—the Body of Christ. It is natural, then, that the study of Christianity should extend to Biology, which is the study of life processes and bodies.

Consider what lengths God went to so we could understand the Biology of the Atonement. He first delivered the blueprint for the Tabernacle—His model of the cells of Jesus’ Body— to Moses over 3,000 years ago. He then led the Israelites as they carried the Sacred Tent through the wilderness for 40 years. Later, He guided Solomon in constructing the First Temple, which stood for over 350 years. The Holy Spirit recorded these events in Scriptures delivered through holy men and prophets for our benefit. For 2,500 years scribes copied and recopied the Scriptures, ever vigilant to reproduce them faithfully. And, of course, most important of all, God sent His Son, who walked among us and fulfilled those Scriptures. Afterword, apostles and saints endured persecution and martyrdom to deliver the message of the Gospel, which has been carried throughout the Earth and handed down from generation to generation among the faithful. All so we, in the twentieth-first century, in the Space Age, can understand how God redeemed us and made it possible to bring us into His heavenly kingdom (2 Timothy 4:18). In view of this history, it is fair to say that we are meant to know these things. It is God’s will that we learn these subjects and learn how to apply them to understand the sacrifice His Son made in our behalf.

    Let us begin.

    1. The Altar of Incense and the ER

The three items of Sacred Furniture in the Holy Place represented organelles inside the cell. As the word implies, organelles are tiny organ-like structures. Each item of furniture in the Sanctuary—the Menorah(s), the Table(s) of Showbread, and the Altar of Incense—mirrors its organelle in at least four ways: function, appearance, location, and number. The Altar of Incense is a case in point. Its design was very simple:

And thou shalt make an Altar to burn incense upon: of acacia wood shalt thou make it. A cubit shall be the length thereof, and a cubit the breadth thereof; square shall it be: and two cubits shall be the height thereof: the horns thereof shall be of one piece. And thou shalt overlay it with pure gold, the top and the sides round about, and the horns; and thou shalt make unto it a crown of gold round about. And two golden rings shalt thou make to it under the crown of it, by the two corners, upon the two sides of it shalt thou make it; and they shall be places for the poles to bear it withal. And thou shalt make the poles of acacia wood, and overlay them with gold. (Exodus 30:1-5)

Given these instructions, the Altar would have looked something like this:

    Fig 3: Altar of Incense

The Scripture also describes the Altar’s function:

And Aaron shall burn thereon sweet incense every morning: when he dresseth the lamps, he shall burn incense upon it. And when Aaron lighteth the lamps at even, he shall burn incense upon it, a perpetual incense before YHWH throughout your generations. (Exodus 30:7-8)

This description makes the identification of the matching organelle easy enough. The Altar released sweet incense into the Holy Place, which means molecules that have a sweet odor. Within the cell there is an organelle that manufactures molecules that are half sugar, half protein or that are half sugar, half oil (i.e., fatty acid). In either case, we can say it releases molecules with a sweet odor. The organelle is called the Endoplasmic Reticulum (or, ER, for short) and it looks like this:

    Fig 4: Endoplasmic Reticulum (Source)

You will note that it looks nothing like the Altar of Incense. At first, it would seem that there is no similarity in appearance. However, think of the Altar of Incense with smoke coming off of it, smoke that is filling up the Holy Place:

Fig 5: Temple with Altar of Incense

Notice how the smoke mimics the characteristic S-like curves of the ER. The Altar, then, released molecules into the Holy Place, and the ER releases molecules into the cell. The Altar formed S-like curves of smoke that filled the Holy Place, and the ER forms S-like curves with its membranes that fill the cell interior. The smoke that the Altar released into the Holy Place contained sweet-smelling molecules. The molecules that the ER manufactures and that embed themselves in the ER’s membranes are also sweet-smelling, since they are half sugar (sugar-oils and sugar-proteins).

They embed themselves in the ER’s membranes because the oil (or protein) portions of the molecules hate water. The interior of the membranes are oils (lipid molecules with fatty acid wings). By embedding inside the membranes, the oily regions of the sugar-oils can escape the water they dread so much. At the same time, the sugar portions of the molecules do not embed in the membrane. They love water, so they stick out into the water that is between the membranes of the ER. Thus, the molecules are half-embedded and half not. In this manner the S-shaped curves of the ER fill the cell interior with sweet-smelling molecules. The Sanctuary mimics this behavior with sweet incense.

The location and number of the Altar were also similar to the ER’s location and number:

And thou shalt put it (the Altar of Incense) before the Veil that is by the Ark of the Testimony, before the Mercy Seat that is over the Testimony, where I will meet with thee. (Exodus 30:6)

The location of the Altar was immediately in front of the Second Veil. Likewise, the location of the ER is immediately in front of the Nuclear Envelope, which corresponds to the Second Veil. The S-curves extend from the Nuclear Envelope outward and the smoke from the Altar extended from the Second Veil outward into the Holy Place. Thus, we have a strong correspondence between the Altar of Incense in terms of function (both emit sweet-smelling molecules), appearance (both fill their space with S-shaped curves), location (both were immediately in front of the Cell Nucleus/Most Holy Place), and number (in both cases there is/was only one per cell/Sanctuary).

    2. The Menorah and the Mitochondria

We can see the correspondence between the Sacred Furniture and the organelles in the cell most strongly with the Menorahs, or Golden Lampstands. The Lampstands, of course, emitted energy into the Holy Place in the form of light.

And YHWH spoke unto Moses, saying, Command the children of Israel, that they bring unto thee pure olive oil beaten for the light, to cause the lamps to burn continually. Without the Veil of the Testimony, in the Tabernacle of Meeting, shall Aaron order it from the evening unto the morning before YHWH continually: it shall be a statute for ever in your generations. He shall order the lamps upon the pure (bright) Menorah before YHWH
