About this ebook

GOTHAM'S greatest super-villains escape from ARKHAM ASYLUM, and BATMAN must quickly wrangle up the rebel rogues. When only one remains at large, the DARK KNIGHT gets an extra hand from his biggest, little fan — the BAT-MITE, a mischievous imp from another dimension. Unfortunately, the RIDDLER isn't the easiest crook to catch. But if BAT-MITE can't crack the criminal cluemaster, he might end up hurting, instead of helping, his favorite hero.

The quiet Gotham City night had been broken by the loud ringing of a burglar alarm at Hawke’s Jewelry Store. Two blocks away, another alarm began to blare at Byrd’s Stamps. A moment later, a third alarm joined the night chorus at Aves Art Museum.

The sleek, dark Batmobile screeched to a stop on 27th Street. Batman’s shadowy figure jumped from the car and raced inside Byrd’s Stamps.

Moments later, five police cars with flashing red lights zoomed down the street. Then, a squad of police officers ran to the dark gallery.

The man watching from a rooftop across from Byrd’s Stamps did not seem to care that the pouring rain dropped off the brim of his bright green bowler hat. He waited patiently, silent and still. Minutes later, the policemen and Batman came out of the gallery leading the Penguin away in handcuffs.
