Dark but Light - Eric Thornton

    Jeff

Nothing makes a man truly understand his life as a Dark Blood brother like being in a frat party sort of entertainment. And as Jeff sits back sipping at a beer and flirting with a few other brothers, he begins to wonder what the rest of his life is gonna be like. How happy he is gonna be. He looks at Reyes and Mason and smiles at how happy they are together.

And then he looks at Zion and Marcus and how amazing they have held together for a good couple thousand years. It surprises him that some people can have that much fun with life and still be together. How some people can be together for centuries and not grow bored of each other.

But then again, if he could go back and be part of World War 2 or have a have a chance to meet a beautiful man then he would have a good life too.

How the hell he is suspected to deal with and understand today’s society with how it is beyond him. He guesses it is just a matter of figuring out what he has to do. Maybe working a humane job during the day and relaxing at night. Yeah. That just might be what he could do to occupy his time.

    ––––––––

    Calvin

Nothing makes more sense than writing a bunch of movie scripts and getting paid thousands of dollars to write another for a company. He has written for comedies, horror movies, thrillers, romance scripts, and then some. And every time he makes more and more money off the scripts.

And the biggest thing he is making millions off of is writing for teenage comedy and teenage drama scripts. The more he thinks about it the more he begins to remember he is a teenager at heart.

Maybe that is what is keeping him on the happy train. He smiles as he finishes up yet another season for the latest teenage drama that is going on. It is about a small town girl that gets caught up all her lies. And when it goes too far, she has to worry about figuring out how to make things all better.

And from what he is hearing from his agent, there are a few companies that are fighting for the rights to the show. He doesn’t have the whole idea behind who he wants to play it but he figures it has to be someone good.

When he is done, he emails the third season off to his agent. When that is done, he heads into the kitchen and loads up on more sweet tea. He loves having a nice four gallons of sweet tea in his fridge. He loves how he can constantly be loaded up on that stuff.

At the rate things are going, he is never gonna have to worry about having to face that kind of thing. Never gonna have to worry about having to face the world for what it is: a cold cruel bastard.

And if writing clichéd shows is the best way to avoid unemployment then he is doing pretty fucking good about it.

    Jeff

When he gets back home for the day, Jeff goes right to his e-reader. He pulls up the website application on it and loads up on all the Erin McCarthy novels and novellas the author has out. He checks her website on his top of the line laptop and spots she has more coming soon. Fucking awesome. Ever since he read the first book of hers that he had come across called High Stakes he has been addicted to her work. To say it is like some people are to sugar products is the understatement of the century. And he knows all about centuries.

After all, he has been a member of the Dark Blood brothers for a good nine centuries. Count that. Nine centuries.

And when he thinks about it, he knows he has read plenty of literature. But this author is downright fucking entertaining and funny as hell to him.

When he’s done using his credit card to purchase all her work, he also puts a preorder on the one she has up. Damn. Why the hell couldn’t he do some writing as well?

Oh that’s right. He doesn’t have that fortunate ability. And while he thinks about it, he wonders if he will ever come across someone that can write just as good if not better. He doesn’t plan on imitating Reyes and ending up with a full time author—though that would be fucking great—but he wants someone that writes something else. Like a playwright. Or a screenwriter. Or a TV show script writer.

    That would be amazing.

    Fucking hilarious.

    Calvin

When he gets done writing another episode or two that have come to mind, he begins to wonder what it is gonna take for him to get out of this world. What would happen if dire circumstances ever were to cross his way? To make him make a decision. Would television be able to survive? Or would it suddenly turn into nothing but reality TV shows like Simple Life, and that kind of thing. That is something he never wants to worry about.

As long as he is living and breathing, he will work eight hours a day five days a week writing scripts and movies and then some and keep making good fucking money for his writing.

By the time he is done for the day, his hands are hurting but he also needs to do some bill pay. Needs to handle a little bit of shopping. And what he wants more than anything right now is to read some funny, sexy, romances he can get his hands on.

Yeah. He might do a bit of research. A girlfriend aka a good friend of his told him about a few authors he should get his hands on. At least their work. People like Gena Showalter, Jaci Burton,
