Musings: A Collection

A well-crafted aphorism is pithy, humorous, and most importantly, contains a kernel of truth. To publish an entire collection is foolish at best and delusional at worst. The sheer audacity of such a thing borders on the absurd. What a monstrous assumption it would be to believe that I have succeeded in capturing anything as elusive as the truth

To man, moderation is not the rule. Excess he displays, and so the fool.

Ideas swell to fill the empty head.

Sense, so uncommon, rarely in its stead.

Man magnifies and exhibits the freak.

Blinded from the proper lens, he should seek.

Sense is rarely found on written pages upon which nonsense may last for ages.

For truth hides not ever in the extreme,

But lies in plain view, somewhere in between.

Meaning so elusive, men strive to find the perplexing question for all mankind.

Very little is what it seems to be,

The ever-shifting sands of reality.

The reason for living remains unclear,

Lest a man holds his values fast and dear.

And sees them in a new and brighter light, untainted by the sins of human blight.

Virtue in its highest and purest form,

Like the rarest gem, is not the norm.
