How to Dress an Inverted Triangle Shaped Body - Anita Larman
Chapter 1: Why You’re Reading This Book
On a daily basis, women are bombarded with certain ideals, when it comes to body shape. We see skinny models and actresses on billboards, in magazines, and on TV. These images of beauty are hard to ignore and make us feel like we are never good enough. So many women fight their natural shape, don’t eat enough, or hurt themselves physically and mentally in an effort to fit these ideals.
Of course, the ideals are unattainable for the vast majority of women. On the one hand, only a very small percentage of women are so thin that they look skinny even on camera. On the other hand, women in magazines and on billboards are now photoshopped until they are actually unrealistic looking. It’s highly likely that you would not recognize most models if you met them in person.
So why are you reading this book? Are you tired of feeling like you don’t look good enough to fit the ideals? Are you unhappy with the shape and natural frame of your body? You’re not alone - most women are not content with what they have. It’s hard to feel good about yourself when you feel surrounded by skinnier, more beautiful women.
But are we really so surrounded? Instead of measuring yourself against supermodels and actresses who are paid to stay in shape and stay thin, take a look around at what women really look like. Walking down the street you’ll notice that every single body is different. If you only saw other women who are actually normal, you probably wouldn’t judge yourself so harshly.
