About this ebook
It’s the spring of 1984 in British Columbia, and life is just getting exciting for Esha. A secret that looms over her family has reinforced her proud resistance to her family’s Indian identity. However, one day changes everything, and Eshas well-thought-out rebellion is put to the test. In the blink of an eye, she is forced to step up and fulfill her father’s last wish, taking her thousands of miles away to a place she never dreamed of visiting: India. Forced to follow traditions she has denied her whole life and fighting the temptations of an unlikely love interest, Esha must now confront her new reality. As she comes to understand her heritage, she also becomes a victim of the highly unstable political climate in 1984 Delhi. Prime Minister Indira Gandhi has just been assassinated, political tensions rise, and now only one chant can be heard: Blood for blood. Esha must fight to survive the three days of brutal chaos that erupts throughout Delhi in the aftermath of the prime minister’s assassination.

- Rating: 1 out of 5 stars1/5Nav Gill's Under the Moonlit Sky left me utterly disappointed, longing for a more engaging and well-crafted reading experience. It is evident that Gill's writing skills require significant improvement, and perhaps a writing class or workshop would have been beneficial before embarking on this endeavor.
From the very beginning, it becomes painfully apparent that the writing style is monotonous and lacking in creativity. Gill's prose fails to captivate the reader, with descriptions that fall flat and fail to breathe life into the settings and characters. The dialogue feels forced and unnatural, further distancing me from the story and its supposed emotional impact.
The characters themselves suffer greatly from underdevelopment, rendering them forgettable and unrelatable. Gill fails to provide the depth necessary for readers to form meaningful connections with these individuals. Their actions and motivations often feel random and inconsistent, leaving me puzzled instead of invested in their journeys. It is disheartening to be unable to care about the fate of these characters or empathize with their struggles.
Adding to the disappointment is the lackluster plot. It lacks coherence and direction, meandering aimlessly without any clear purpose. The pacing is sluggish, burdened by lengthy and unnecessary exposition that adds little to the overall narrative. It is evident that the author had no firm grasp on where the story was headed, resulting in a disjointed and unsatisfying reading experience.
The romantic elements in Under the Moonlit Sky are contrived and unconvincing. Gill's attempts at crafting a believable love story fall short, lacking the necessary chemistry and depth. It feels as though these elements were included merely to fulfill a checklist, rather than serving as a meaningful and emotionally resonant aspect of the narrative.
In conclusion, Under the Moonlit Sky is a lackluster and forgettable read that highlights the author's need for improvement in their writing abilities. I would strongly encourage Nav Gill to consider seeking out a writing class or workshop to hone their skills before embarking on future literary endeavors. Readers would be better served by exploring more engaging and well-crafted novels that offer a truly immersive and satisfying reading experience.
