This was a great book, especially by a first-time author! And the illustrations were charmingly drawn and adorable, too, such a nice companion to the story. The only reasons this book isn't 5 stars are (1) the storytelling dragged at the end and some of the prose got clunky, which is so unlike the rest of this delightful story, and (2) the illustrations were wonderful, but they didn't have that 5-star, springing-to-life quality. However, my standards are rather high, and I'm probably being too picky.
