About this ebook

They were the Watchers from the planet Nibiru sent to Earth during ancient times with the sole purpose of observing and recording human development. They were to remain hidden in the background, unnoticed by the humans.
According to their planetary laws it was strictly forbidden for them to develop relationships with the inhabitants of Earth, let alone mate with a human female. This was considered a sacred sin, punishable by death. However, a group of more than two hundred like-minded individuals, led by Azayzel, their power hungry leader, found the women of Earth too beautiful, too enticing and chose to risk their lives for the opportunity of having a sexual experience with these females and produce offspring.

Ancient Seeds of Sin - R.A. Zbiegien

    AUTHOR

    Prologue

Time had run out. His anger could no longer be contained. The word had been sent to release all of the guilty into the harsh environment below. Once highly regarded and deeply loved members of his kingdom were now being cast out as punishment for violating one of their most sacred laws, committing one of the worst sins. Their defiance and treachery were too hard to ignore, too hard to bear. It was time to let them go. Over cries of condemnation and shouts of obscenities, the large metal doors burst opened as the clouds quickly parted through the echoing winds. And down they fell. Through the sky they hurtled toward the rain soaked ground, slamming against sharp mountainous edges along their way to the bottom. Their screams quieted as they hit the wet terrain, one on top of another. They were now gone, no longer allowed to interfere in his plans, no longer able to disturb what he had built, or so he thought. For as the doors slowly closed and the last body had landed, the time period of the great divide had begun.

    Chapter 1

The farmers welcomed the cool relief that the rain had brought from this summer’s stifling heat. It was a taste of freshness that quenched their thirst and removed the stress felt over the fear of losing this season’s harvest due to drought. This region of the northern valley had seen its share of problems over the years - hot dry seasons and long cold winters. Each season tested the endurance of the people who lived there, pushing them seemingly beyond their limits, but each time they responded by learning to adapt to their environment. Despite the obstacles the seasons had in store for them they were able to reach deep inside them-selves to overcome their fears and strive for a meaningful life. Finally it seemed as if their prayers were being answered; maybe this summer wouldn’t be that bad after all.

One of the local farmers, known as Ishmail, was out in his field talking with Quotar who’d come to visit him from the nearby village of Emar located west of the Euphrates river. Both were watching the sky remarking how good it felt to see Mother Nature finally reward them for their patience. Even a small drop in temperature was a welcomed sign. Quotar had let out a sigh of relief while Ishmail said a small word of thanks to his God for this gift of rain.

First there was the force of the wind, followed by a thunderous roar, then what appeared to be smoke high above the clouds over the mountains. A flash of light and finally the high pitched sound of screams filled the air. Both Ishmail and Quotar stood still, stiffened by what was happening. Nothing could have prepared them for what they were about to witness next.

Did you see that! exclaimed Ishmail.

Yes a stunned Quotar slowly replied, his eyes fixating on the mountains, straining to understand what he had just seen.

Were those bodies falling from the clouds? Ishmail asked.

    I believe so.

But how is that possible? And that noise – I’ve never heard such a sound.

    I don’t know.

We should go get some others and take a look, what do you think? suggested Ishmail.

I think you’re right. Stay here and keep an eye out for anything that may be moving out there. I’m going to town to get some help. Don’t do anything until I get back.

Get some water and cloth as well. If there are any survivors, they will be hurting Ishmail shouted as Quotar headed down the path towards the villages. By now an uneasy feeling had settled over Ishmail, for over 40 years he had farmed these fields, taking over for his father, who had also continued in his father’s footsteps. He had heard strange stories from the past of men who came from the sky, big, powerful men, yet he had never laid eyes on such a thing. As he stood staring at the mountains he began to tremble, a small measure of fear started to take root, and he couldn’t help but wonder. What did they just witness, it isn’t possible for man to fly but yet the sky is where they fell from. Most importantly were the stories his grandfather had told him true?

The twisted bodies lay on the hard surface softened by the constant pounding of the rain over the last few days. Arms and legs slowly moved while the moans of pain and agony could quietly be heard from among the few who were able to make such sounds. Blood spread over the rocks as it mixed with the rain to form a small stream. Several of the bodies tried to stand but were experiencing extreme difficulty keeping steady; a few rolled over onto their backs and laid there straining to breathe, gasping for air, while others didn’t move at all.

Damn you! growled the one called Azayzel while pushing down on his hands to lift himself up. I’ll make you pay for this! he screamed, slowly raising a distorted fist towards the sky. You loved them more than me, more than us. From here on out, they will suffer horribly at my hands. You bastard! I will twist their thinking, distort their reasoning, and poison their will. Not a day will go by that I won’t have affected their very souls. In the end they will belong to me! his chest expanding & contracting with each breath. We will have our revenge! upon which he laid his head down onto to the ground, pausing for a moment, then passing out.

As the supreme planetary leader, he had given them every opportunity to change their behavior. They knew the law, they understood how he felt about it and yet they went ahead with their plans and disrespected him in the process. They were the watchers, assigned to observe and record progress. Not to interfere but observe behavior. The information they obtained was necessary in determining the next step in the evolutionary process.

The moment his aides informed him of what was happening he knew that there was no choice but to expel them. Regardless of his personal feelings for them others would be watching his reaction. It had to be hard and it had to be swift. The drop zone was purposely chosen to leave them deep in an unforgiving hole where survival would be utterly impossible. There is no room for mercy on this matter. If he hadn’t acted as such, others would have followed the same path - the temptation would be too great for them to resist. An example had to be made. The consequences of their actions, if allowed to continue, would have been devastating.

He had worked too long and too hard to create the type of being he felt comfortable with. Along the way there were many failures, miscalculations, incorrect configurations and horrible mutations that didn’t meet the requirements to complete the tasks they were originally being created for. Then, finally through constant experimentation and testing he found the correct genetic combination that would allow him to develop a human being who could handle the difficult responsibilities necessary for their survival. But somehow they evolved into something more than what was originally anticipated. They did show signs of learning and the ability to think for themselves. And as their intelligence grew they were even able to adapt to various environments and find ways to overcome obstacles. They also displayed many childlike tendencies that he found quite endearing. True, they were not perfect and had many faults but he began to develop a fondness for them, a love much like that of a father for his child. So much so that he often referred to them as his children. And while he loved all members of his kingdom, his love for his children was growing deeper then he could ever imagine.

The law was very clear; no member of his kingdom could touch the humans or they would risk expulsion. There would be no exceptions. He had the final say, the final judgment over everything involving them. He would bring them along at his own pace and in his own time. Whenever he felt they were ready to take the next step forward only then would he allow others to assist them in learning what was needed. How to build, how to grow, and how to prepare for their destiny, but only with his approval. He saw his children as being able to accomplish great things but only if they were allowed to follow the path that he was laying out for them. Any interference could not, would not be tolerated.

By the time Quotar had reached Emar, several villagers were standing in the middle of town discussing what they had seen and what to do about it. By now the rain had subsided.

It is too dangerous to travel out there, besides what could survive a fall from so high up? Who or whatever they were are most likely dead by now commented Siria one of the town’s elders, as a few of the other townspeople nodded in agreement.

A young carpenter named Usema responded, We have to at least try to find them, otherwise how do we know for sure who they are or if they survived? I know some trails that will get us deep into those mountains; I have traveled on them many times before. It’s not as difficult as you might think; we can even take a few mules to pull a couple of carts with us in order to carry them back.

Simeon, the oldest elder in the village, enjoyed listening to young Usema’s enthusiasm. After all, Usema worked hard, long hours in the heat building, lifting material and moving heavy stone. The work made him strong and fit. He could easily move about in that terrain.

I’m afraid my young friend that territory is off limits for quite a few of us. Age has taken its unkind toll. However, if you think you can do some good out there then by all means someone should check it out

Look, here comes Quotar from the fields gestured one of the others. Let’s see what he knows.

I assume some of you have seen what happened out there, stated Quotar as he approached them. Any ideas as to what it was?

None answered Simeon. But Usema and some others are preparing to go out there to find out.

Good, I’ll go with them. Let’s bring some water, cloth, and food for this may take a while. Get some rope too – we may need it.

I’ll gather the mules and a few carts. Who else is going, we could use all the help we can get? A few more of the younger men volunteered. And with that they began quick preparations for their journey into the mountainous region, hoping to find survivors.

The cooler air of the mountains felt good against their skin. After many hours, some of those who had dropped from the sky were finally awakening from their ordeal and had started moving around again. Semtaza, who was resting against a huge boulder, opened his eyes, took a moment to adjust to his surroundings. The area they had been dropped into was deep, dark, and circular, enclosed by tall, smooth, black stone pillars that had sharp rock edges sticking out intermittingly. He noticed light from above, which exposed everyone lying around him.

With great effort he shouted to the others, Come on, Wake Up! Benzek, Sarel, Azayzel, you need to move around. Sit up! It was then that he felt something trickle down from the side of his head. Despite the pain in lifting his arm, he touched a spot just above his right ear with his hand and felt the wound. His finger was wet with blood. His head began to hurt. He knew the longer they laid there the harder it would be.

I’m here replied Sarel as Semtaza began pushing him. Where are we?

At the bottom of some pit, Semtaza said. Now help me wake the others up. We need to start moving around, get our bodies working again and figure a way out of here."

Semtaza knew that their bodies were quite different from the human beings that inhabited this planet and had a better chance of withstanding the kind of fall that they had just experienced. Yes, there would be broken bones, concussions and internal injuries, but their bodies were a lot stronger than the humans and able to absorb injuries and heal quicker. Moving around would help the healing process.

Finally able to sit up, Azayzel spoke The cool air feels good inside. Just let me catch my breath first. A sharp pain dug into his side with each breath. What is this place? I’m sure they picked it especially for us, if they didn’t create it themselves.

It does look like something they would dream up. The stone is smooth, hard to grab onto. Though I see some jagged edges sticking out. Maybe we could use them to our advantage. I don’t see a pathway out of here answered Semtaza while surveying their surroundings. It’s definitely a pit.

I can’t move my legs! Benzek cried out. I think they’re both broken. Someone help me sit up. With that Sarel moved over and assisted Benzek so that he could sit up with his back resting against a stone pillar.

Let’s just take a moment to assess our situation, make sure that everyone survived, and then figure out an escape plan from here. Armario’s, you look better than the rest of us, at least you’re standing. Take a look around; make a count of all those who survived and those who didn’t. I suggest the rest of us try to help the injured, at least those of us who can ordered Azayzel. After all he was the leader of this group whose plans had led them to this moment. It was he who couldn’t control his desires and had organized the others to follow him. They knew the law but didn’t care; they wanted to follow their own purpose. They liked what they saw and wanted to fulfill their own needs, never thinking they would get caught. They all swore an oath not to abandon this plan and all bound themselves to it. Vowing total commitment to each other and their actions they completely followed the design of Azayzel proposal. More than 200 had agreed to it and more than 200 were punished. Now they all lay at the bottom of this pit wondering if they will ever get out.

    ••••

The villagers had barely reached the base of the mountains by the time night was falling, so they stopped and began to setup camp. Along the way they had picked up a few more men and some equipment, in addition to food & water. Several tents had been erected and campfires were burning. Most were sitting down eating and talking amongst themselves about today’s event, trying to understand what had happened and what it all meant.

If they are men, how do you suppose they got up there? The ones I saw fall came from somewhere high above the clouds said one of the villagers. And those clouds were higher than the tallest peak of these mountains. I couldn’t see what it was they fell from due to the cloud cover, but I did see smoke and what looked like fire up there as well, he continued.

And what about that sound! Did you hear it? I’ve never heard of such a noise. What could possibly have made it?

And what if we can’t find them – then what?

Does anyone have any idea as to who they are or what this means?

    With that everyone stopped talking.

Quotar stood up and spoke Gentlemen, I have no answers for you but we will have a long day tomorrow so I suggest we finish up and get some rest. We will be starting very early in the morning. We want to be moving the moment the sun comes up. Usema here knows these mountains better than anyone and has an idea as to where they may be. The trail won’t be easy so let’s conserve our strength and get plenty of sleep tonight.

Quotar is correct. I know this terrain and based on what I saw I believe that I can lead us to their location. But we’ll need everything we have to get there; the path is rough with plenty of obstacles in our way. So get some sleep my friends and thank you for helping said Usema.

The men began to break up and prepare for the night’s rest. Campfires were either extinguished or left to die out on their own. All of them had laid down either in a tent or out in the open. At the last crackle of fire an uneasy feeling began to settle over the camp. Soon the only noise one could hear was that of a small breeze blowing over their campsite, trees and brush bristling in the wind.

Unable to fall asleep right away Quotar lay with open eyes looking towards the sky. Cloudless and dark, the stars illuminated brightly against the black sky. Millions of stars dotted the night’s landscape. They held many purposes – used for navigation and tracking the seasons. Even village priests used them as part of their rituals. Yet there seemed to be something more to them than what he knew. A strong pull, a strong bond to them, something he couldn’t quite explain. Yes, the stars held many mysteries. Quotar could only wonder – what could possibly be out there?

At the other end of camp, Toshem, a tradesman, also lay watching the night sky. He was the oldest of those who had volunteered for this task. Having recently moved to Emar with his family only 8 to 9 months earlier his thoughts returned to tales told to him by his great grandfather when he was a small boy living in Sardi, a distant region far west of these mountains - tales of an ancient king who came down from the heavens bringing with him many powerful men to rule over their lands. Some of them were good and some were evil.

As time slowly moved on, both men, as well as the rest of the camp, finally fell asleep. With the light of the stars diminished and the wind dying down, all was eerily quiet. Nothing moved. Even the normal sounds of nature were quiet, as if everything was dead.

As the supreme planetary ruler, matters elsewhere required his attention. He gathered his top two aides Micah and Gabril to let them know that he would be leaving.

I will be gone for quite a while due to affairs elsewhere. I place my trust in you with the duty of watching what goes on with all of my children while I am gone. Do not interfere; just keep an eye on them for now. Also, observe the other watchers as well. I do not want a repeat of this behavior again. When I return, then you can report to me what you witness.

Micah and Gabril knelt before him, placed their right hand on their heart and stated As you wish my lord.

Placing a hand on each of their shoulders he gently told them You are the only two that I can fully trust. I have faith in your judgment. You have always been there when I needed you. I cannot thank you enough for your undying devotion and loyalty to me. Our success depends on it. With that he gathered up what he would need for his trip, took one last look around, and departed.

It is true that both aides were extremely loyal and devoted to their planetary ruler. They have been by his side since the beginning and had earned his trust. While each had their own specific role sometimes they would be called upon to carry out different responsibilities as he saw necessary. Both were highly respected leaders within the kingdom and their words carry a tremendous amount of weight. Though rare, praise from their lord was coveted and meant a great deal to them.

Gabril is the messenger, tall with curly blond hair and a strong slender build. He was gifted with carrying out whatever messages his lord had asked him to announce. Amongst a flash of light and a burst of clouds he would majestically appear with the sounds of mighty trumpets blowing, filling the air with excitement as all gathered round to hear the news he was about to bring them. On very few occasions his presence was necessary to appear before a human to deliver a message foretelling them of important future events.

Micah is the enforcer of the law, protector, and leader of his lord’s army. With long flowing dark hair atop a powerfully chiseled physique, Micah commands attention upon arrival. His brazen metal breastplate bears the scars of many battles fought against enemies who have attempted to seize control over the kingdom. He has, upon rare opportunities, made his presence known to humans, but only to display his role as executor of judgments.

I will watch the northern and western lands; you watch the eastern and southern territories stated Micah.

Gabril nodded in agreement I agree, but what about the 200 or so that we expelled?

I will find replacements for them, those that are as faithful to the law as we are. In the meantime the others now know that we are serious about following the law as it is written. However we must reinforce that belief as we move amongst them and talk with them about the consequences of such behavior. We must get them to realize that it can never happen again. There must be no doubt in their minds that the punishment is severe and long lasting.

With no further need for discussions, both aides left to fulfill their assigned tasks. Highly intelligent, each held the same beliefs and understandings as the other, knowing their lord’s plans enabled them to act on his behalf. Gabril took control over the eastern and southern territories while Micah commanded the northern and western lands as planned. He also began finding replacements for the fallen ones, a job he took very seriously.

Often times left on his own, a watcher’s integrity became his greatest asset. His ability to resist temptation, to uphold the law and avoid unauthorized interference is vital to maintaining order and controlling expectations. Failure at this task would disrupt the entire process, causing catastrophic havoc upon all regions of the planet. Micah knew this and went to great pains to find replacements. Those who desired to become a watcher were heavily screened, tested, challenged, and intensely tested again until he was satisfied enough to approve one for the job. Many would fail. Only a few would display the loyalty, courage, and above all, the integrity to make it. But he did not, could not let his lord down on this matter. The new watchers had to be perfect.

In the morning, with the light of a new day now hanging over the pit, Amarios reported to Azayzel his findings Eighteen brothers are dead, with the exception of me and a couple of others the rest are injured to various degrees.

How did you avoid injury? inquired Azayzel, still breathing painfully due to the sharp pain in his side.

I was one of the last ones out. I landed on top of several others which broke my fall; I got away with some minor bruises and scrapes. The same happened with Lazaria, Usal, and Ramel.

Did you find a way out of here? Azayzel asked.

I’m afraid not. While the rock edges sticking out could provide support for climbing up, they are just out of reach of each other for us to grab onto.

Thank you Amarios, get some rest yourself. Semtaza, how are we doing with the injured?

We’ve done as much as we can with what we have. We’ve tried to address as many open wounds as we could utilizing torned pieces of cloth from our robes. Internal wounds are another matter. I believe the makeup of our bodies will slowly heal those if they are not too severe. We also reset bones as best as we could, but they will need some sort of splint to help heal faster. Once again our body makeup will aid them as well.

Keep up the good work. I agree with you on our body’s capabilities; so let’s keep an eye out for everyone. Do whatever we can to assist them. By the way how is your head wound?

The bleeding has stopped but the throbbing hasn’t. It’ll take awhile for that to go away I suspect. If only we had some food and water. That would aid us greatly. Those of us who can should move around and get the blood flowing again as well as relieve the stiffness from sleeping during the night. How about you, you’re breathing is still heavy, anything I can do for the pain?

I’ll be fine. Some rest will do me good. I’m more concerned about everyone else. We need to figure a way out of here if we don’t die from our wounds we most certainly will from starvation.

Upon hearing Semtaza’s advice many of them began stretching, slowly lifting themselves up and if possible, trying to walk around. By mid morning seven more of them had died and worry started to settle in on Azayzel that there was no possible way of escaping, but he couldn’t let the others see that. He was their leader and had to keep the prospect of leaving this damn pit alive. Right now, without food or water, hope was all they had going for them.

At the crack of dawn the volunteer villagers broke camp and headed deep into the mountains, following the way that Usema felt would give them the best chance of success. The terrain was rugged with many rocks and boulders along the way, blocking them from advancing. Several times they had to create their own path by moving these natural obstacles out of the way. It had to be wide enough for their mules, carts and whatever else they carried with them to make it through. Only by working together were they able to move forward and make progress. With very little cloud cover overhead the sun started heating up the trail. By noon, after traveling several miles, they finally stopped to take a rest.

What do you think Usema, are we on the right course? asked Quotar.

I believe so; right over there, in front of that rock formation is where I think we’ll find them. See that big peak behind it, I saw them falling in front of it. Notice how it juts out differently than the ones surrounding it. It stands out amongst the other peaks, somewhat peculiar don’t you think?

Yes that is peculiar, strange how I never noticed that before.

That’s why I remember it so vividly; the background was so out of place it stuck in my mind. Now look over there, see how the ground just drops. Something is not normal, that is where we should go next.

I agree. It shouldn’t take us too long to make it to that spot. Let’s get going.

Come everyone, we’re heading in that direction!

As if on cue they grabbed their stuff and begin hiking toward the strange edge that Usema had pointed out to Quotar. A little over an hour later they had reached that edge. Usema and a few others arrived first. What appeared to be a large circular hole created by steep tall stone pillars was laid out before them. They stood there in amazement, gazing out over the landscape, not wanting to move. Another volunteer caught up with them and accidentally kicked a few stones over the edge of the hole.

Sitting down, Amarios heard something from above, looking up he saw the stones rolling down the side of the wall and landing at the bottom of the pit, narrowly missing one of them. He stood up shading his eyes so he could see the top of the pit, realizing that someone was up there he shouted as loud as he could.

HEY! Down here! We’re down here!

    Soon others around him
