About this ebook
The love in their relationship had blossomed, almost from the pages of a real-life fairy tale come true for both Kathy and Giles. What could go wrong as their story continues? Then Carina arrived and their glamorous French Riviera excursion of bars, business, lust, sex and remorse changed their course in the space of just a few mad days. Fairy tale to hedonistic nightmare in one business trip to the Cote d'Azur.
Kathy questioned how such complete fulfilment in her new relationship could be lost in one night by the capture of her man by Carina, a sultry, wealthy, sexy and demanding cougar, although her own revenge thereafter only complemented this man-eating style, and with a young deck hand half her age. Should she confess to Giles or stay silent about Luiz and their night of passion in St Tropez?
Now back in London, and with Carina returning to Brazil, what did their future hold? Was there a way back for both Giles and Kathy? They had never loved like this before, but the aftermath of drunken nights of betrayal had stopped them both in their tracks to question what they really wanted, from themselves and each other. Resolution, angst, fear, soul searching and healing need to be experienced if they are to further their journey ... if they do.

Chapter 1 - Celebrations together
‘Shall I pour?’
The approach to Christmas seemed more magical than ever this year for both Kathy and Giles, tingling through their mutual love and desire.
With the spectacle of the London Summer Games fast fading into memory, the hangover of its adrenaline still throbbed through the hearts of Londoners, while the English autumn cooled into a damp and dark winter. The calendar of celebratory rituals filled their diaries from Halloween to Bonfire Night, followed by Christmas shopping, office parties and the big day itself.
This year the run-up to the festive season was focused around the Kent village home of Kathy's parents, Jack and Rachael. Jess, Kathy's daughter, was now aged eight, but sometimes showed traits of acting more like an 18 year old, and had spent much time speculating what gifts she might receive.
Giles had, after some coercion from the staff, agreed to close the London Monument office for the festive period. Plans were made to make the most of the time suddenly now free, and they were all at home in Kathy's small house for the lead up to Christmas Day; Christmas Eve lunch was spent in the bustling local village pub, with many of the locals consuming their favourite tipples before returning home. Kathy, Giles and Jess then walked the short distance back to Jack and Rachael's home in the small close around the corner for an early tea.
The decorated exterior of the house in ornate festive lights came into its own at sunset, and they twinkled brightly as the mist descended across the bare fields. Jack had clearly been tasked in making it the best display ever this year. The Christmas fir tree in the lounge of their home was as large as Jack could squeeze in there, decorated in silver tinsel and matching stars, with presents crammed among the lower branches.
It was agreed that Jess would stay at her grandparents’ home on Christmas Eve, partly as a treat for her, but also for Jack and Rachael, who were huge fans of the holiday and loved having children around to share the experience. The added benefit was that Kathy had uninterrupted adult time alone with Giles and would give him his 'present' early on Christmas morning.
Kathy identified one small red-wrapped present that Jess could be allowed to open before going to bed and gave her a huge hug before clutching Giles’s hand and wishing them all a peaceful sleep as she took her leave. A large bottle of deep red claret had just been opened by Jack and Giles smiled his approval as he immersed himself into the consuming dark of the December night.
The short walk to Kathy's home took only a few minutes. They held each other close as they went, sharing anecdotes of Christmases past. The village pub, The Royal Oak, was busy as they meandered along the road directly outside. Giles suggested popping in for a 'quick sharpener'. Kathy looked up into his face, the flashing Christmas lights glinting in her eyes. 'I have a few other ideas for your sharpener, sir,' she purred, grinning like a Cheshire cat, before rising on her toes to kiss him; her tongue slipped into his mouth, and he sucked its tip.
'Maybe not, then!' Giles exclaimed loudly, laughing slightly as they hurried their steps towards the house.
Her small cottage, red brick and tiles, came into view; the dark silhouette soon came to life as they closed the old front door behind them and switched on the lights. Kathy beckoned Giles to the kitchen to get the bubbly from the fridge while she went up the creaking stairs to freshen up.
Giles removed his coat and found the tall elegant flute glasses and the cooled Champagne; he moved through to the small lounge and turned on the Christmas tree lights. The fragrance of fresh pine filled the warmed air as he settled on the sofa. Small in size, the tree was festooned with handmade festive shapes fashioned by the little hands of Jess, and then covered in purple tinsel and red lights, with a light sprinkling of wrapped and bound presents and tins of sweets underneath. The pop of the cork could be heard throughout the house as the wine flowed into the tall glasses on the table.
'Sounds good,' came the call from the bathroom upstairs, and light footsteps could be heard descending the small staircase.
Kathy's head appeared around the doorway; her hair tied in a seductive and elegant bun, a strand of auburn hair either side loosened to complement her svelte neck and hinted at limited attire. 'Are you ready to start your Christmas, darling?' she offered softly, smiling.
'Oh yes!' came the response, his mind full of her hint earlier outside the pub.
A naked leg revealed itself around the corner as an additional tease. 'Are you sure you've been a good boy this year?'
'Ooh yes!' came the chuckle as Kathy waltzed seductively into the room, displaying her outfit.
A rich crimson fur-edged negligée covered her upper torso down to her swaying hips, along with a matching thong and a push-up bra that highlighted her ample breasts. She smiled as she reached Giles, bending over in front of him to reach for a flute of Champagne, her shimmering rounded cleavage revealed to him in the process.
'Wow!' he smiled, before adding, 'Happy Christmas darling,' and stood up to clink glasses. 'Cheers,' he whispered softly. He kissed her gently as she reached towards him, her glossed lips just touching his.
'I hope you like the first part of your present,' She said as she placed the glasses down.
'Fabulous!' He kissed her again, their lips softly caressed each other’s as he cradled her in his arms; his hands wandered inside the negligée, and his fingers slid up her spine.
