About this ebook
From Mokie and Bik:
Mokie and Bik lived on a boat called Bullfrog. They lived in it, on it, all around it—monkeying up ladders and down ropes, over the wheelhouse and across the cabin floor.
"Twins!" their mother shouted, because the lines of her Art jiggled and jarred when Mokie and Bik played bumpboats. "Get out from underfoot!"
So Bik bumped Mokie out the door—splat!—into nanny Ruby's bucket as she was sploshing the deck.
"Twins!" shouted Ruby. "Get out from underfoot!"
So they sunned like seals on the wheelhouse roof for about twenty hours till Ruby finished sploshing.
Meet a pair of twins that will monkey their way into your heart!
Mokie is bigger but Bik is faster. They are twins, and they have a nanny Ruby that looks after them while their mom is Arting and their dad is on his ship at sea.
Whether they're helping Erik the Viking splosh his decks or learning to swim fast as fisk, these two are always overboard or underfoot!
Rambunctious and charming, Mokie and Bik are a pair you won't soon forget. Wendy Orr's buoyant language and Jonathan Bean's gorgeous, detailed pen-and-ink illustrations blend together in a book that is destined to become a classic.
Mokie and Bik is a 2008 Bank Street - Best Children's Book of the Year.

- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5Boisterous twins, Mokie and Bik live on a boat with their artist mother and Ruby. their nanny. Father is a fisherman who is often gone. The twins make up their own language and have the time of their lives monkeying around on the boat, in the sea, on land; everywhere. There is words that are slightly changed to maked the book more "fun". For example, fish is now fisk. Cute story trhat would be fun to read aloud to little children.
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5Mokie and Bik are the children of a father who is normally out at sea. They live on a boat with their mother who is an artist and a nanny named Ruby. With their mother constantly "Arting" and father sailing in distant seas, they create their own adventures and terminology. This book gives readers the opportunity to learn that knowing the definition of a word isn't 100% necessary in order to still gather the meaning. There are many made up words that can only be understood if the reader uses the context throughout the text to come to a realization of what the word may mean.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5This book is about when two kids live on a boat and their dad is away. But the have lots of adventures. One of them is how they learn to swim. I recommend this book to people who want to kbow what it is lime to live on a boat.
