The sun was too hot. Gaia pulled the Sunshield away from the window but dropped it fast. She didn't want to burn her eyes. The view outside her home in the country was lovely that time of year: untouched snow, blue sky, and the creaking of bare trees. She was hosting an "End of the World Party" that night, and had to get ready.
