I had always wanted to see France and so, as Aaron and I planned our wedding, we also saved for our honeymoon. We were both young and still in college, though Aaron had graduated with his bachelor’s in Art History in June, he was planning on entering the master’s program the following semester and so, money was tight. Eventually, we decided that we would travel through France and some of the rest of Europe in the cheapest possible fashion, camping half the time and spending time in hotels when we could afford it. We planned to spend at least a month traveling before we returned to the states and school.

Our wedding was beautiful, a lot of tears and laughter, well, you know, the usual, and then we were on the plane and headed for Paris. The city would be our most expensive stop, since the rest of the time we were going to rough it, but for our first few days, we had booked a lovely hotel so we could give the city its deserved time.

It wasn’t until we hit the beaches in Provence, though, especially a little place, Porquerolles, that we felt we were truly on our honeymoon. The beach there was secluded and very beautiful and there was a wonderful little hotel that was so different than the ones in Paris where it was so busy and chaotic.

On our second day there, we were dining in a little café not too far from the hotel, relaxing after a luxurious day in the sun, when we noticed another couple at the table next to ours. Hey, are they looking at us? Aaron whispered at me and signaling with his eyes, he indicated the couple to my right.

I looked around casually and I noticed the couple Aaron was talking about as they were in the midst of a passionate kiss. I did take the time to register that they both seemed extremely attractive, at least the parts that I could see that weren’t mashed together. I turned back to Aaron and shrugged.
