    Introduction

The instructions in this book assume that you have some familiarity with standard dice and card game terms. If you don’t, please review the following:

Card Value: Unless otherwise specified in the game instructions, the cards with the lowest value are the twos. The cards increase in value according to the number on the card. Beyond the tens the cards increase in value from Jack to Queen to King to Ace, with Aces being the cards with the highest value.

Hand: The set of cards or dominoes dealt to a player.

Run: A set of cards in numerical sequence, such as 7-8-9 or 2-3-4-5.

Trick: A set of cards that have been played, one from each player. In many games, the person playing the card with the highest value takes the trick.

Trump: One of the four suits (spades, hearts, clubs, diamonds) that has a higher value than the other suits. For example, if clubs is the trump suit then any club is higher in value than any heart, spade, or diamond.

Wild Card: A card that can be assigned any value.

Additional terms can be found on the Internet. Search the phrases card game glossary and card game terms.
