I Learned To Fly With Broken Wings - Colette Releford
Foreword
The writings in this book are for anyone who has lost a loved one or had to start over again. It is for anyone who has lost sight of a dream or a goal. For those who can recall more failures than successes.
It is for those times when it has seemed so much easier to stay in the pit of despair rather than face the heart battle of climbing up all over again. When it seems easier to settle and give up than take the risk again of trying and not knowing what could happen.
So in other words I would like to think for almost anybody for the journey through life is rarely easy. We all at one time or another in life fall so far that the miles of our journey seem endless and neither the end nor daylight is within our view.
Even if the fall is just for a moment, the pain of it can be intense. However I hope that in journeys of life and faith we are never truly willing to settle. Settle for average, settle for just surviving, and settle for living with no hope and no faith. We all deserve better in life.
These writing reflect my journey. This journey has truly been longer than I could imagine when it first started for me almost 20 years ago. Yet despite the many tears, pain, anger loneliness and times I was truly lost in the dark I have learned I was never alone.
I can look back and see all the times God was with me even when I lost my faith and hope. This journey begins with a single incident that changed my life forever, the death of my mother and my best friend.
She loved me enough to teach me to dream and soar and in losing her I thought I no longer could. So come with me on journey and see how I learned to soar again even with broken wings.
I hope in some way when you find yourself in that same broken place you will know you are not alone and that you can move forward you can hope and you can soar. Trust me the view is amazing.
