APRIL 2011 OVERVIEW

Neptune changes signs this month!

It takes Neptune approximately 165 years to make a complete transit of the zodiac, staying in each sign about 14 years. Neptune shifts signs this year for the first time since 1998, which is very big news indeed. Neptune will be moving into Pisces on April 4th, where it will stay until August 5th, when it will retrograde back into Aquarius. Neptune returns to Pisces on February 3rd 2012, where it will remain all the way through to 2025. Neptune is an era-defining planet, so this is big news, indeed.

Neptune is much more at home in dreamy Pisces. This is it’s ruling sign, the placement where it’s energy is at it’s strongest, and the planet can express itself the best. Mental, techy Aquarius made for some uneasy times during Neptune’s transit of that sign. Technological advances, especially the internet, caused a lot of confusion in the world. It was a very difficult period for the media, which saw revenues, and incomes, plummet, as there was a bonanza of free information available on the web. The instant copy and re-distribution of digital files made it easy to share films and music. Aquarius represents the communal need, making people feel free was a basic human right, and that it would somehow be forever sustainable.

The last decade also saw the rise of social networking for love and friendship, creating illusory relationships that never existed anywhere except in cyberspace and people’s minds. Somehow the initial sparks romance and friendship became cut off from the physical reality of the body, creating some confusing times.
