He has also logged about 1,000 scuba dives in various parts of the world. He has spent time in 40 different countries, visited over 250 cities, zoned out in Zen Temples in Japan, stayed in Ashrams in India, lived with aboriginals in Australia, done sweat lodges and ceremony with Native Americans, slept well in five star resorts, cheap motels, leaky tents and jail cells. Additionally, Leslie estimates that he has enjoyed a cold beer at more than 1,000 beach bars around the world. Leslie works with people to help them understand that they can choose to discard non-productive beliefs and take on empowering ones. He has been helping people opt out of limiting mindsets and adopt a Prosperity Paradigm for many years. Leslie’s mission in life is to empower, enlighten and enrich the lives of others.

    Introduction

For years, I have been telling those people that I’ve personally coached and those who have attended my talks and seminars that one of the most important things they can do to create a fulfilling and successful life is to focus their mind on the personal ideals they have set for themselves just before going to sleep each night.

The subconscious mind is powerful. It can be so destructive that it can ruin your life. It can be so constructive, it can create enormous success. It can create terminal diseases. It can heal.

Fortunately, this enormous power of the subconscious can be directed by the intentional choices made by the conscious mind.

Focusing your attention on your ideals just before you go to sleep each night is a very effective way to direct your subconscious to act constructively towards creating the fulfillment of these goals and aspirations you’ve chosen.

This book is a tool to help you accomplish that. It contains 56 short chapters. Read one each night after you climb into bed for the next eight weeks and you will discover that you are empowered to create a successful and fulfilling life.

I suggest that you also read my book, entitled Your Prosperity Paradigm, which explains the 11 proven steps you can take to create your success.

No matter where you are at in life, always remember that you have yet to become all you are capable of becoming; you have yet to do all that is available for you to accomplish; you have yet to experience all the wonders and joys that life has to offer you.

You can, at any time, by a simple conscious decision to enact your will, transform your life and become empowered as never before to go about creating a meaningful and joyful life.

I wish you all the success you desire and so richly deserve.

    Part One

    Success Thinking

    Do You Deserve Success?

Deep down, where it counts, many people do not believe that they deserve success. They do not think that they are worthy of success. And they may be right.

They long for success. They imagine success. They struggle for success. They aim for success. But, they are addicted to failure.

Yes, addicted. They refuse to give up their habitual ways of thinking, despite the overwhelming evidence that their thinking is not producing success. They refuse to give up their habitual beliefs, despite the obvious evidence that those beliefs are not conducive to success.

Every successful person I have ever met reports that it was their thinking that first stood in the way of their success and then, when they changed how and what they thought, paved the way for their success. It is the same experience I had.

Every successful person I have met believes that they deserve success. Not because they are smarter. Not because they are better educated. Not because they are in any way special or unique. They believe that they deserve success simply because they believe that they deserve success. And, they are right.

Those who are spiritually minded have a couple of preconceptions (beliefs and thoughts) about success that do not serve them and may be preventing them from achieving their ideal of success.

The first is that in order to deserve success, you need to be a good person as judged by societal norms; and second, that material success is not really a spiritual thing and may detract from spiritual development. They are wrong on both counts.

Those who are materialistically minded also have a couple of preconceptions about success that do not serve them and may be preventing them from achieving their ideal of success.

The first is that spiritual principles have nothing to do with material success and may detract from success; and second, that success is a matter of doing certain things, not about being a certain way. They are wrong on both counts.

Success is a holistic thing. The material is inseparable from the spiritual. The spiritual is inseparable from the material. Spiritual success without material success is as empty and meaningless as is material success without spiritual success.

In the end, it is not about doing anything. You can do all the spiritual things or you can do all the material things and still not be successful. You can do all the doing you want. You can do whatever you want. But, you will never have success, no matter what you do UNTIL you learn that it all begins with who you are and how you are being in life.

Who you are is spirit, is light, is consciousness. Consciousness is metaphysical or spiritual. The primary activities of consciousness are thinking and believing.

Thinking and believing are metaphysical or spiritual attributes. It is the metaphysical or spiritual that brings forth the physical.

The formula is BE then DO then HAVE. First become worthy. Then, do whatever you like; enact your personal ideals. Then, you will have the success and personal fulfillment you desire.

Become worthy by thinking correctly. Become worthy by believing correctly.

Look at the universe. Abundance is a fact. Lack is an erroneous perception. Stop thinking thoughts of lack and limitation. Stop believing in lack and limitation.

Think abundance. Believe in abundance. Then, you will be worthy of being abundant and having abundance.

I believe that you do deserve success. I believe that everyone does, potentially. It is an unfortunate fact, however, that only those who know that they deserve success actually get it. Examine your predominant thoughts; examine your core beliefs.

Do you deserve success? Yes, you do; but only if you think so and only if you believe so.

    Clichés of Success

The problem with writing about success is that almost everything ends up sounding like a cliché. It has all been said before. It has all been read or heard before.  There are no new secret formulas; no new tricks to creating success or being successful; nothing new to write about.

If you are reading this, it is highly likely that you should already know all there is to know about creating the success and prosperity you desire. Somewhere, sometime, you have already read or heard exactly what you need to know in order to be a success. And that is exactly the problem.

I could write that you need to have a vision to follow; an ideal that inspires you to action. Yeah, yeah. You’ve heard it before. I know that. It’s become a cliché.

One of the flaws of the human intellect is the tendency to look at something, recognize it, and then immediately judge it as known and therefore not needing a closer look or a second look.

‘Write your goals down.’ Yeah, yeah.

‘Set clear, specific, time-related goals.’ Yeah, yeah.

‘Purpose plus passion plus persistence = prosperity.’ Yeah, yeah.

‘Your thoughts and beliefs create your reality.’ Yeah, yeah.

You’ve heard it before. You already know that. But stop… What do you actually know?

There is a huge difference between knowing of a person and knowing a person. You might know their name. You might know what they look like. You might know what they do for a living. You might even know what their favorite food is, but do you really know that person? Do you know what is in their heart and their mind?

There is also a huge difference between knowing about the principles of success and knowing the principles of success. You may recognize them when you see them. You may even be able to recite them by rote.

But you don’t actually know them unless you live them.

You may recognize the words, but until, and unless, you are actually living (applying) them, you do not actually know what you think you know.

If I were to ask you right now… What is your vision that guides your life?… could you give me a succinct and distinct answer? Could you write it down in a one or two sentence paragraph?

What is your purpose? What is your passion? What are your goals? What are your predominant thoughts? What are your core beliefs? What does success mean to you?

Can you give me a clear (and honest) answer in under a minute to each of these questions?

Can you then tell me exactly how you are living your knowledge of success principles?

Success comes from having clearly defined ideals combined with a fervent desire defined by clear, written, time-defined, goals that are worked towards every day and persisted in until they are made manifest.

Yeah, yeah, I know it’s a cliché. Your success is either empowered by, or inhibited by, your recurring, predominant thoughts patterns and your core beliefs about yourself and success itself. Yeah, yeah, I know… it’s a cliché.

Yes, writing about success almost always ends up sounding like a cliché.

Wouldn’t it be great if your own success was a cliché, something taken for granted by you and all who think they know you?

    Principles of Success

Succinctly said, success is harmony. When the result is congruent with the ideal, success has been achieved. When the thought germinates and ripens to produce
