‘Trevor’s Odd Assay’ is an introductory short story about a young security guard’s journey up through the floors of Musevary Towers, a mysterious residential tower block where anything can happen. It is a preview for ‘Tall Stories’, an anthology of tales that are set in a shared story environment where a number of writers have written stories that intertwine, allowing them to share and develop each other’s characters and locations every time a story is told.

Chris Raven

Chris Raven was born in South London some 50 or so years ago, maybe a little more. He originally started out in Local and Community Theatre in the 1980s, but became side-tracked by health and social care, where he has made his living for the past 30 years or so. More recently he has found his way back to the creative arts and enjoys writing in several forms and genres, including poetry, short storytelling and playwriting.He also performs and has contributed illustrations to other author's works. He has edited books for The Indie Collaboration and he joint coordinated the 'Tall Stories' shared writing project.

Mike suddenly stopped mid-stride and peered through the yellowed Perspex window at the soles of Trevor's immaculately polished black work boots. They rested on the counter, behind the security office window, crossed at the ankles. It was not unusual to see Trevor lounging back in his chair but on this occasion it was the two large pink globules of chewing gum that had caught Mike's attention. One was on the bottom of the lower boot's heel and the other was firmly attached to the counter, both were connected to each other by a long spindly mozzarella strand.
