About this ebook

Angelica Arlington and Noah Monroe were best friends. They had started out as best of friends when Noah’s family moved onto the same street as Angelica’s family. They went to Junior High together and although Noah was a year ahead of Angelica, they had so much in common. They spent most of their time together and loved skiing. They lived for the slopes at Oliver Mountain. As time moved forward, they found themselves spending more and more time together. Call it fate, but their relationship had escalated since Noah had graduated. His thoughts were that maybe he has a soul mate after all. He would be attending college next spring with plans of becoming a Lawyer. He only hoped that Angelica’s feelings were as strong as his. The bond that these two had were remarkable and nothing or no one could separate them.

Larry, my husband, and I reside in Mount Airy, North Carolina. I have one son. My two sisters are the best friends anyone could ever have. They are my best allies and encouragement supporters. They are my most precious jewels.Due to the Covid issues, I am not presently working at Floyd's Barber Shop in downtown Mount Airy, best known as Mayberry, NC. Known from the Andy Griffith Show that ran from 1960 through 1968 and the hometown of Andy Griffith. We get thousands of people annually in the small, quaint town and we love our visitors, whether just looking or getting an actual haircut. We would love for you to visit us. As far as working, we'll see how long this virus takes hold.I love doing many things: writing, reading, drawing, sewing, jewelry making, barbering, woods, photography, making soaps, creams, butters and more. I never find myself bored and life is a story regardless if it is verbal or in type.I am a Cancer survivor and thanks to Jesus for His supporting hand during a difficult period. Thanks to my husband for standing firm beside me through the ordeal. We turned my cancer into a positive situation and kept an upbeat attitude. Cancer affects an entire family, not just the victim. For those out there with cancer or those who have been through it, cancer is not the end and you're never alone. You never know what touches others. This could go either way; good or bad. But through writing you are able to express and hopefully bring a little entertainment to others. It only takes a word to make a person smile and you never know when a word could pick someone up who is down. We do not have to be authors in its truest form of the title, but do what you enjoy and if it is writing, then enjoy when you do it. Thank you Smashwords for giving thousands of people the opportunity to voice their thoughts through self publishing. It's fun and easy to do. The hardest part is self editing. Locating errors can and will be your hardest part in self-publishing your books. Don't let that stop you! If you have stories that you placed high on that top shelf years ago, it is time to get them down and march forward. Never allow anyone to tell you that you can't. We may never be known other than to ourselves, but do it for yourself and because of your love for writing. Thanks to all of you that have downloaded samples or purchased downloads of my books. You are appreciated. If you have any encouraging words or simply want to point out (my text errors - because they are extremely hard to find yourself), please feel free to contact hurn5262@yahoo.com. Please leave a response in Subject line regarding the story or it will not be opened. Be blessed, Jesus loves each of you very much. Take care!

    When the Snow Fell

Angelica tapped her finger gently on the glass as her fingernail clicked in rhythm with the water droplets falling from the icicles that dangled from the gutters of their house. The snow had been falling since yesterday and, so far, had shown no sign of letting up. As if in a hypnotic state, she would watch the snow fall and would focus on one spot as she attempted to count the flakes while they drifted back and forth.

It was Tuesday and due to the heavy snow fall, schools had been closed for the day. The way the snow was coming down it looked as though they would be closed the remainder of the week.

Periodically, Angelica would close her eyes and succumb to the heaviness of her eyelids as gravity seemed to pull them downward. With her head against the window, she watched the fluttering snowflakes as they built a mound in the windowsill.

Since early morning, Angelica had been watching the snow fall for several hours through the living room window. Occasionally, she would scan the neighborhood to detect any movement coming or going. She wondered what the other families were doing on such a bitter, wintry day.

The pine trees stood still in the chilling air as snow continued to pile on top of the already heavily laden branches giving way to a beautiful illusion of glistening crystal.

Angelica watched carefully with each passing moment as she patiently waited for her friend Noah to appear outside with his skis.

Finally,, she said aloud, It’s about time.

Noah looked diagonally across the street toward Angelica’s house and saw her looking out the huge picture window.

He motioned a hello with a wave of his hand and flashed a huge smile her way as he
