    Lily - Justin CP Kelly

    Chapter 1: The Charmed one

Lily had been running relentlessly for days, following the elusive pull that guided her towards her destiny. Exhausted and on the verge of collapse, she pushed her Rougarou companion to its limits, hoping it would not fail her. Its loyal heart beat in sync with hers, propelling them forward and leaving their pursuers behind. But no matter how hard they tried, the relentless assassins remained on their tail, closing in with each passing moment.

Lily's Rougarou, once pristine with a beautiful white coat, was now matted and stained with dirt and mud. The wounds adorned its body, evidence of the countless battles fought. Yet, it pressed on, head held high and proud, for it carried the weight of a prophecy. Since the day of Lily's birth, the old witch had foretold that she would be the Rougarou to save the Qikiqtaaluk pack, and she had grown up knowing that her purpose was intertwined with the survival of her pack.

Despite being chosen, Lily had always been an outcast among her peers. The other Rougarous teased and belittled her, using hurtful words like special and charmed as veiled insults. Even though her father, Alpha Michael, led the pack, they showed her no respect. What they didn't realize was that Lily possessed an inner strength that surpassed most of the females in the pack. She was a crossbreed of Shtriga and Rougarou, a secret she held close. While her true mate could unlock her dormant powers, the knowledge of her unique heritage remained concealed from her pack.

Lily's bloodline was a convergence of two ancient and mysterious creatures. The Shtriga blood flowing through her veins granted her an affinity for dark magic and the ability to transform into a flying insect, just like the vampiric witches of Albanian folklore. On the other hand, her Rougarou lineage bestowed upon her the raw strength and primal instincts of a werewolf, granting her heightened senses and the ability to shift between human and wolf forms.

The combination of these two powerful lineages made Lily a force to be reckoned with, yet it also made her an enigma among her kind. Her true potential and dormant powers could only be fully realized in the presence of her destined mate, someone who possessed the key to unlock her hidden abilities. However, the truth about Lily's unique heritage remained carefully guarded, concealed from her pack. It was a secret she carried with both pride and caution, knowing that revealing her true nature could invite unwanted attention and possible danger. For now, she remained an outcast, silently awaiting the arrival of her true mate, who held the key to her full potential and the acceptance she yearned for within her pack.

The Qikiqtaaluk pack faced a mysterious affliction that caused the female Rougarous to lose their ability to shift. The disease had stumped doctors and neighboring packs alike, leaving the Qikiqtaaluk pack isolated and shunned. Desperate to preserve their bloodline, they incorporated humans into their pack, hoping for a reversal of fate. Yet, the females continued to succumb to the dormant state, and other packs distanced themselves for fear of contamination.

Recently, the fear of the disease spreading had driven an enemy pack to send human assassins to eliminate the Qikiqtaaluk pack. Lily's father had prepared hidden sanctuaries for the pack, but their survival ultimately relied on Lily. As the chosen one, she was tasked with finding her true mate and returning as their savior. With a heavy heart, Lily transformed into her Rougarou form, accepting her mission with a mixture of determination and fear.

Lily ran through the night, her howl echoing in the darkness, a plea to the heavens for guidance. With each stride, she felt the intangible force pulling her closer, a beacon of hope amidst the chaos. A dilapidated house emerged on the horizon, and Lily knew that her true mate awaited her inside. But the danger was not far behind, as the human assassins closed in, their gunshots shattering the night. Lily's survival instinct kicked in, urging her to find shelter and evade their lethal aim.

She sprinted towards the old house, dodging bullets that seemed to come closer with each passing second. The deafening shots resonated in her Rougarou ears, causing piercing pain. Finally, she burst through the door, her claws scraping against the slippery floor. In the dim light, she found herself face-to-face with a mummified corpse, a chilling sight that froze her in fear. The realization dawned upon her that perhaps her heart and soul had led her astray, that her journey had been in vain. As darkness claimed her consciousness, she wondered if she had run to her own demise, never to fulfill her destined purpose.

    Chapter 2: Arise sweet prince

Cato Poseidon, a Nereid cursed to live on dry land, found himself trapped in an abandoned house by a wicked sea witch. Unlike other Nereids, Cato possessed unique abilities, including the power to transform into a dolphin, venomous fangs, incredible agility, and the ability to control water through his innate magic. Despite his immobility, Cato's natural talents and strength made him a formidable being.

Born from the unconventional union of his royal Nereid parents, Cato was created through gene splicing, incorporating their own genes and ancient DNA from a Leviathan named Alep to ensure his survival. As a result, he was immortal and seemingly indestructible, causing fear and desperation among those who saw him as an unstoppable force.

However, his extraordinary attributes also attracted the attention of Apophis, Alep's brother, who cursed Cato, confining him to the abandoned house where he remained unable to move. It was a lonely existence for Cato, cut off from his family and yearning for his true mate to bring him the happiness he so longed for.

Despite his immobility, Cato's magical abilities and foresight kept him connected to the world around him. He could foresee events before they happened and manipulate water with a mere thought. While he couldn't enter the water, he could still draw upon its power and use it to his advantage.

As the years passed, Cato's hope of being rescued dwindled. He waited, his heart heavy with the burden of isolation and the longing to find his true mate. The abandoned house became his prison, a constant reminder of his curse and the injustice he had endured. Cato, in his comatose state, had lost touch with the passing of time. However, one day, he heard a scratching noise at the back door of the abandoned house where he was trapped. The sound of nails scraping against the worn-out wood and the scent of lilies and cherry blossoms filled the air. Suddenly, Cato's soul stirred, recognizing that his true mate had arrived.

Struggling to move, Cato focused on gathering his thoughts and listening attentively for any signs of the imminent threat closing in on his true mate. He heard grunting and crunching noises coming from just outside the kitchen. Cato could also smell the odor of sweaty bodies that could only be coming from human men. He heard the door creak, indicating that five or six men were getting ready to enter the house.

Using what little strength he had, Cato moved out of the chair and pulled his true mate behind the back of the sofa, ensuring she was out of sight. He then dragged his body across the floor to the back door and positioned himself in front of it. His plan was to cause the entering men to stumble over him, creating an opportunity to defend his mate.

As Cato hoped, two men entered through the door, and the first one fell right on top of him. Taking advantage of the moment, Cato swiftly sank his fangs into the fleshy part of the man's neck, injecting his venom. Simultaneously, he cast a spell to absorb the water from the man's body into his own, replenishing his own strength. Another man stumbled over them, and Cato repeated the process, rapidly absorbing the water from his body.

With two more men bursting through the front entrance and two others entering through the window—one on the left and one on the right—Cato prepared himself for the upcoming battle. His determination to protect his true mate burned brightly within him, empowering him to face the danger head-on.

If his true mate had still been passed out in the middle of the room, the human men would have had her surrounded. Fortunately, she had fallen in front of Cato, in the safety of his home. The odds were now heavily stacked against the intruders.

In a matter of milliseconds, Cato's skin and muscles began to rebuild themselves, his power and strength growing exponentially. As a Nereid, his innate abilities were formidable, especially when pitted against mere humans. Even if he hadn't fought back, it was unlikely that the humans could have killed him. Cato had discovered through trial and error that he possessed an extraordinary resilience, much like a Leviathan. They, too, were nearly impossible to kill, and Cato shared that trait with them.

There were only a few known methods to bring down a Nereid. One involved exploiting their deep connection to water, finding a way to separate them from their aquatic environment or depriving them of their connection to water. However, this approach held no power over Cato, as he had survived without water for years.

Another tactic was to turn their own powers against them. Nereids had a range of abilities tied to water manipulation, and neutralizing those abilities could be a potential strategy. Yet, countless attempts had been made to counter Cato's water-based powers, all in vain.

The third and final option was fire—an utter and total burning to ashes. It was a method Cato had yet to face, as he possessed the resilient DNA of a Leviathan. The war between the Empa and Verga, which had ended thousands of years ago, had claimed the lives of many Leviathans, leaving only three survivors: Keanu, Alep, and Alep's brother, Apophis.

With the odds stacked against the human intruders and his own immortality on his side, Cato stood ready to protect his true mate and face any threats that dared to come their way.

Knowing that his body would require more water than what the human bodies could provide, Cato swiftly took action to ensure the safety of his true mate. With little time to assess the situation, he made the decision to swiftly dispatch the intruders, ending their lives cleanly and without unnecessary pain. Cato then drained the water from their bodies, disposing of them outside the house.

As he stepped outside, Cato felt his body convulsing, his magic calling forth water from the ground beneath him. In a matter of moments, he knew he would be fully recovered and able to tend to his true mate. Five minutes later, Cato reentered the dilapidated house and looked down at the pure white Rougarou, knowing she belonged to him. Despite her small stature, he could sense the power in her muscles beneath the matted and dirty coat. She appeared tired, hungry, and emotionally drained, but he noted no serious injuries or damage that couldn't be remedied with time, care, and nourishment.

Cato extracted a few drops of his venom, allowing them to coat her mouth, easing her pain and inducing a deep, restful sleep. Gently, he carried her up the stairs and placed her on the old, musty mattress in the master bedroom. It was a humble space, but for the moment, it would suffice. Cato made a mental note to find better accommodations for his true mate once her health improved.

Rubbing his hand gently down her soft pelt, Cato closed his eyes, savoring the joy of finally being close to his true mate. It was a feeling he had never expected to experience with anyone
