Fete Takes a Hand

Story One

PC Presto patrolled Puddle Town with his police dog named Sarge.

He was most probably the happiest policeman in the world because in all of Puddle Town there had never ever been a single crime!

The bank had never been robbed, no one had ever been burgled and everyone’s bicycle was safe as houses.

Every morning PC Presto and his police dog Sarge would stand outside Puddle Town school stopping the cars and lorries to let the children cross safely.

The children loved this and would all salute as they walked carefully across the road. Sarge loved the children and his tail used to thump on the ground!

Then every afternoon PC Presto with Sarge by his side would be back. Once again making sure the children crossed the road safely.

If the truth was known this was the only real police work he ever did! But this didn’t mean PC Presto ever got bored - far from it.

He liked to keep his police house and office spic and span. Every morning he would clean it from top to bottom whistling a happy tune whilst he worked.

He always saved his favourite cleaning job to the very end. His favourite chore of all was to polish the shiny police sign on his office door.

He did this every single morning and there was no doubt HIS was the shiniest police sign in the world! You could even see your face in it he told people.
