About this ebook
Still in the closet, custom motorcycle mechanic Mack MacKenna takes his pleasure in long weekends away from home as a silent partner in a members-only style club. These weekends provide Mack with nameless, relationship-less debauchery. Although he’s out to his best friend, he still worries about his family’s reaction.
Crypt Ross is an out and proud up-and-coming young artist who has had a crush on Mack MacKenna since his senior year in high school when Mack was there to talk to the shop class. Since then Crypt has poured out all of his angst and unrequited love into his art, scoring himself a full-ride scholarship to art school.
What happens when Mack and Crypt come together? Will it be happily ever after or love lost?
West Thornhill
West thinks she is nowhere near as interesting as the characters who populate the universe in her head. But she has moments of amusing brilliance. They just tend to happen when she least expects it. You know those times when the filter between the brain and mouth malfunction. West blames it on the holes in the ozone layer. Writing has always been a part of her life. It wasn’t until she went back to college as a non-traditional student that it became more real. West was attacked by a stray rubberband which lead to an awesome friendship and her first critique partner. West writes stories of men in love that are very Yaoi based. Now that she’s branched out into YA LGBT with The Ravens Crossing, she’s trying to balance things out more. She loves to hear from readers. Chapter One
Mack still couldn’t believe Tuck had talked him into wearing a Harry Potter T-shirt and attending the opening of the last movie. Yes, he’d been to see all the others with his crazy best friend but this was the first time she’d dragged him to a midnight show. He looked around, eyes taking in the myriad of moviegoers dressed as their favorite character or wearing tees like him.
That’s when Mack saw him. Dressed all in black but looking like he’d be more comfortable at a rave than here surrounded by the costumed set. Mack felt his body react to the younger man’s beauty. Which in this place was not a good idea. No one in this small town knew of Mack’s sexuality, except Tuck but then she knew everything about Mack.
See something you like?
Her sultry, siren voice whispered in his ear.
He nodded. He was afraid if he answered her, out loud, everyone would hear. Something which would be just as bad but for different reasons. Everyone, including his family, thought he and Tuck were a couple. But they weren’t. They were each other’s foil. Tuck preferred a softer figure with deep red hair and green eyes than one hard bodied and male. The only reason he was there was because Lee, Tuck’s long-time girlfriend, was on her last deployment in Rota.
He is pretty,
she whispered in Mack’s ear. Clear, pale skin covered all in black. And, his hair…I wonder if it’s really blue-black or if he’s vain and dyes it.
Mack turned so he could see more. He let his eyes travel from the scuffed combat boots, up long legs covered in bondage pants and Disturbed Up Yer Fist
T-shirt to finally meet a pair of clear blue eyes. Blue eyes that caught Mack checking him out.
Mack nodded before turning back to Tuck. He looks young. I wonder if he’s legal.
Tuck laughed. You’re only saying that because he’s surrounded by a gaggle of rabid blonde bunnies.
Mack laughed with her before diving into the large bucket of popcorn they were sharing. He glanced back and caught a look of longing on the other guy’s face. Even if he was out, barely legal wasn’t his type.
The lights dimmed and a cheer went up. Mack shook his head and settled in to watch the previews.
Two and a half hours later, the movie ended and he couldn’t believe Tuck had actually cried. He knew she’d read the book and knew how it ended but she still cried.
I can’t wait to get home and email Lee. She’s going to laugh her head off,
Mack teased as they walked out of the theater.
Tuck punched him the arm. Shut up,
she said as she ducked into the ladies room eyes red and sniffling.
Mack continued on outside to smoke. He glanced over toward the concession area and there were still people standing in line to buy popcorn and soda. He was really glad Tuck had gotten tickets to the midnight show and not the 3am one. He leaned against a dark section of the wall where he could watch the crowd file its way out.
People leaving slowed down to a trickle and he wondered where Tuck was. He shook his head. She probably ran into someone and started talking. Sure enough she stepped out into the night, laughing, her tears forgotten. She turned and waved at his barely lit presence. The cigarette always gave him away. He turned and sighed. This could take a while. It always did when Tuck ran into Addie. He dug out his keys from his pocket and strolled toward his Jeep Wrangler. It would be more comfortable to sit and wait.
He’d just rounded to the driver’s side, listening
