    About the Author

    What is a Wolf?

A wolf is an animal that looks a lot like a dog, but wolves are wild. You can't make friends with them like you can a dog. Wild wolves also don't make very good pets. They are usually afraid of people and will hide from them or will attack them.

Like a dog, a wolf is covered with fur. On a wolf the fur is often gray, brown or black. Some of them in the arctic are pure white.

Often the fur on a wolf's stomach is lighter in color than the fur on its back.
