THE zebra with its distinctive markings is one of the most beautiful creatures in nature. Its coat has been copied by fashion designers, and in some countries pedestrian crossings are called zebra crossings because of the black-and-white stripes.
But this horse-like mammal is more than just a pretty coat. It’s also the national animal of Botswana, where it can be seen in the Okavango Delta among other places.
