Bad Luck - Lurea C. McFadden
Chapter 1
If it wasn’t for bad luck I wouldn’t have any luck at all. That’s my new take on life. There once was a time in my life when everything was great. Yes, life for me, Macklin R. Dupree Sr. was just what the doctor ordered. Life was smooth and things were going my way. I was thirty-six payments away from burning the mortgage, my sexy, attractive wife of the last twenty one years loved me and my dirty drawers and the kids were two steps from leaving the nest and going off to college. I was enjoying the fruits of my latest promotion and I was looking forward to an empty nest with just me and Jessica, that’s my wife, in the house. Yes, life was good. Then she moved in next door.
It seemed that the Bush presidential years and the bush next door took more than the country by surprise. As gas prices soared, for some reason my insanity level rose right with them. Overnight, the infrastructure of my happy home swung with the turbulence of the country. The war waging in Iraq was only a kiddy battle compared to what I was blindly and too boldly getting myself into.
The day the rented Ryder moving truck pulled up to her house, she jumped out of the passenger’s seat and her children materialized from somewhere in the truck yelling and making all sorts of noise, rattled more than just the peace level in my neighborhood. Perhaps it was the way her daisy Duke shorts rode up the smooth silky texture of her long legs. Perhaps it happened when she bent over to retrieve something she had dropped on the ground in front of the house. I am not sure what it was but when my eyes landed and stayed too long on the apple-bottom curves of her supple behind, I went crazy. No not at that exact moment; but the process slowly began then for sure. And it seemed, I could not stop it no matter how hard I tried.
I had yet to meet the new neighbor who seemed to be without a husband or steady man. At least I haven’t seen any males coming or going besides her teenage son. Out of character, I had taken to sneaking peeks through the blinds or out the side windows when my wife and children were not around. I couldn’t seem to get enough of seeing her. As the weather grew hotter and the fourth of July approached, I wondered when we would finally come face to face. It had been nearly a month and I still had not met her.
Jessica, if I didn’t tell you before, that’s my wife, met her and said she was a pretty nice person but I just fringed disinterest at the mention of the subject.
I had never cheated on my wife in the twenty years we have been married. Yeah, I looked at other women. I have even taken a phone number or two. But I have never found a strong enough reason at home or in the street to mess up the good thing Jessica and I have going on.
So here I was listening to Jess (that’s what I call her sometimes) go on about the new neighbor and trying like hell to erase the image I have of her bending over in her yard or walking down her sidewalk. Oh, God now my fantasies had grown to remembering how she walked.
Macklin
Jessica said, did you hear what I said?
There was no way to describe the feeling that came over me when I realized I was trapped. As I brought my attention back to my wife, my arm slipped into my lap as I realized I had the making of a baby erection. My face reddened as I turned to Jessica.
Did you hear what I said?
she questioned.
Uhh no, I was just picturing you naked!
I lied with a stupid grin on my face, hoping that my explanation was sufficient to cover my reaction. Inwardly, I prayed my guilt did not show on my face and Jess did not notice what was going on in my lap. No such luck!
Jessica laughed and approached me. Jessica stood at five feet six inches. Her hips were boldly inviting and her face was always pleasant. That was one of the things that attracted her to me so many years ago. She always seemed to be smiling. I loved Jessica with all my heart.
She slide down into my lap and caressed the short curly hairs of my head as she wiggled her behind seductively. My lower head then did the unthinkable. As Jessica made her move Little Macklin, as I like to call him, began to retreat. As Jessica buried her head into my neck and planted light kisses, Little Mac had the nerve to soften at my wife’s touch. I knew I was in trouble. Now, I am not talking about for the moment trouble. No, I knew I was in deep trouble when Jessica’s touch didn’t stir me further. My erection continued to fade as my mind struggled to eject visions of the hottie next door and concentrate on my wife.
Thinking on my feet, I pulled myself together and quickly began to fondle Jessica’s ample bosom (Yes, I forgot to mention the treat on the top). Little Macklin came to his senses and began to arouse once again. Just when things began to heat up, kid number one, which would be our seventeen year old son Macklin Jr., loudly strolled into the room.
Hey mom what’s for lunch?
Macklin Jr. asked, his fingers working the PSP in his hand. When he caught site of his parents hugged up like teenagers, he proclaimed. Ill, you guys cut it out. Or at least go up to your room!
No sooner than Macklin Jr. could declare his protest when his back-up appeared. Bolting into the room, as well, came Amanda our sixteen year old daughter. This girl was too much for herself.
What’s going on?
she asked not wanting to be left out. What are they doing now?
Mom and Dad were acting like teenagers again.
He laughed, all the while moving towards the refrigerator.
Well just be glad we still have two parents dummy!
she scolded her brother. My friend Cathy’s parents are getting a divorce. Her mom caught her dad…
Whatever, what do we have to eat mom?
Macklin Jr. asked cutting off his sister.
Jessica and I laughed as the moment was broken. Get out of the way boy
Jess said. She moved from my lap and began to prepare something for us to snack on.
Although I was disappointed at the interruption, I was glad for the reprieve. There was no way I wanted to make love to my wife while thinking of another woman! Grateful that my family was intact and happy, I watched Jessica and the children enjoy each other and thought how lucky I was and how stupid Cathy’s father was.
Over the next month, Jessica and the lady next door, I found out her name was Danielle Horton, somehow had become fast friends. I finally got my chance to meet her. I didn’t even have to go out my front door. That Saturday morning, when I walked into the kitchen, she greeted me as I walked into the room. Jessica had jumped into the shower and I awoke smelling coffee. Since the kids were off at an early high school baseball game, I jumped out of bed to grab the newspaper and a cup of coffee.
Nearly on auto-pilot, I grabbed a cup from the cabinet and poured myself a cup of coffee. When I turned to retrieve a spoon from the counter drawer, imagine my surprise when I turned and found Danielle’s big round eyes staring at me. Well, she wasn’t actually staring me in the face. No, her eyes were locked on the bulge that was lurking around in my shorts. I didn’t have on a robe and the pressure of my morning erection was still evident. I am not a punk or anything but I was embarrassed. My face became flushed as the blood quickly rose to my face in embarrassment.
You would have thought that Danielle would have felt some sort of embarrassment as well but she simply held her gaze and smiled. Her eyes never left the opening of my shorts as my Little Man began to betray me once more. With the cup of hot coffee still in my hand, I felt the head of my penis stick out of my shorts as it began to gain more length.
Uhh... I didn’t know anyone was here. I am so sorry.
I am not sure if I stammered the words or how they came out.
As my words filled the air, she finally lifted her eyes to my face and showed me her perfect set of thirty twos. Don’t be.
She said in a low seductive voice.
My eyes locked on the movement of her lips as her lower lip retreated between her teeth and reappeared moistened.
The blood in my body didn’t know where to go. There I stood locked in place as my face flushed and my penis protruded from its slit. Totally embarrassed in my own home, I sat the cup on the counter, turned and left without saying another word.
When I arrived back upstairs, I quietly climbed back into bed as I heard the water shut off in the bathroom. My hand moved towards my swollen member.
Jessica emerged from the bathroom door as my hand locked on Little Mac.
What are you doing up?
she asked while toweling off her body. Noticing the movement of my hands she continued. Did someone have a wet dream?
she asked coyly.
Normally I would have laughed with her but today I was confused. I was embarrassed. I wasn’t sure what to do. If Jessica found out what had taken place downstairs, I was not sure I could explain my side. Sure I didn’t know anyone would be there but that didn’t explain the huge erection she saw holding up the sheet. I felt trapped.
Jessica began to move towards the bed. The towel in her hand fell, revealing her shapely and beautiful body. I continued to stroke myself.
Let me do that for you.
Her voice was now low and inviting.
I removed my rough hand and allowed her smooth hand to take over. My head fell back into the comfort of the down pillow as my wife pleasured me with her hand at first and then mounted me slowly and brought me to a quick but intense explosion. I pulled her to me as I released my juices.
Staying like that for a moment, we silently listened to each other breathing. Jessica kissed my chest and smiled.
Good morning darling.
She said.
Still spent from the powerful release and a tinge of guilt, I kissed her in response.
Wow, didn’t we just go at it last night? That was some gusher you just shot!
Complaining?
I asked while rubbing her back.
No baby, I always enjoy you. But I must say your face did some kind of dance this time. I wonder what was on your mind.
‘If you knew you won’t be smiling’, I thought as I watched her rise from the bed.
Got to go. I am supposed to meet Danielle, the new neighbor, downstairs at eleven. I left the back door open for her to come in while I was in the shower. I hope she didn’t come early because we were rocking the floor!
Jess said laughing, as she hurried into the bathroom to freshen up once again.
From the firm unwavering stare I received downstairs earlier I was sure Jessica’s new friend had heard or was probably listening as I made love to my wife. Now all I had to do was pray she wouldn’t say a word about our morning meeting. Accidental or not I wasn’t ready for any drama.
It seemed my prayers were answered because when Jessica returned from her shopping trip at the mall, she was all smiles. Cautiously, I asked her how her day was going and she began with her usual run of the recap of her day. She told me about how she caught a fierce sale at Macy’s and a double discount at
