    Chapter 1: Introduction

    When it comes to poetry, I truly believe that everyone has the potential to compose their own poetic feet, their walk in life or rhyming beats. Poetry is in everyone, everything, and stands out everywhere man has traveled. There’s poetry in a janitor’s swing as he mops the marble floors of hospitals, factories, schools, and after that, he or she polishes, in many lands the granite tiles of palaces. The waitress or the waiter, serves with perfect tone, while balancing a tray full of glasses and sharp knives with dishes on the shoulder. Or the bus driver drives with diction and grace through the enjambment streets of the early morning.

    The paper carrier-be it girl or boy, flicks each buddle wrapped in rubber bands or stuffed in plastic bags, the meters sound out landing upon stone and wooden porches. Children line up in iambic order, in all sizes, in all shapes, and in all colors in all school yards. Poetry is in everything and everywhere that harmony and wisdom are found in a solid form, verse, and rhythmic pattern. Write in all genres using traditional, modern, and contemporary form it is your right.

    Poetry is art, art that can not be seized or conquered by a self-selected few. No one can what has already been establish from the beginning of all time, nor add or revise what has stood the tests of time. Nor can a few exempt the many from the spirit of its creativity that blooms naturally in all and for all. In the past there were many poets, those known and those unknown. Unlike today the self-serving cliques who have attempted to modify the language scheme and foundation, the very form of poetry in order to confine its beauty and its art behind the mawkish walls of selfishness, from the many.

    Published or unpublished, your imagery and voice is just as important and crafty as the next individual. The best poems are those composed from common thought or event or a vision with confidence and has open and free accessibility.

    If your dream can easily be pushed aside or snatched out of your heart, this could only mean that you never deep-rooted that dream. In everything you do, put your whole heart into it with all your heart, might, and soul. Criticism exist only to nurture the heart and soul, if you allow negativity to conquer on your throne at any time, or on any level, than you must also accept the fact that you have become a slave of your own makings. A true poet has no rules, policies, or procedures to obey. A poet never yields in practicing and sharpening up on the craft, nor ceases in creating good stories, or great poems. There are many ways over and beyond good poems, without bars, pure and true can produce a thought in someone’s mind allowing them and you to progress.

    Chapter 2: Leads them on

    There’s a song for every moment-

    for every moment in life.

    A sad song and a dancing song;

    A song so silent, and so sweet one will know.

    A song that one must sway to by its beat

    and with its rhythm-tap one’s feet,

    its easy to understand, its easy

    and its free flowing,

    just ask the music major, at band.

    The music major plays on key

    that leads them on, leads them clear,

    with bright brass and plastic drum sticks

    thumping and vibrating every step.

    memo-14

    there are three words

    i dare not attempt to repeat,

    two of them-i love-

    but, the last

    will keep-you-discrete.

    in may

    wisdom

    keeps the kingdom

    operating,

    there is no debating

    in may, spring knows

    how the clean-cool wind blows

    against the body, the bones,

    and time changes-listening on i-phones

    decreasing distances-

    tablets, screens and clear photo images.

    not one verse read

    victory can be achieved

    if by putting the whole heart into it-

    the whole soul into bold battles;

    forever focusing the mind

    on this digital world-

    a world of hand held devices

    creating lines of truths or falsities;

    shattering spirits,

    building up, cutting down;

    instigating wars-

    changing religious views

    and texting life or death,

    stirring up waywardness, and

    not one verse heard today

    is quoted from the true word.

    memo-10

    if there’s a thousand things

    on my mind,

    why then does it seems

    i have no rhyme?

    memo-68

    you can swear to stop;

    and persuade others you have quit-

    throw away or hide the substance,

    but, you’ll still have the habit!

    everyone is somebody

    somebody, somewhere,

    proclaiming that, everybody

    can be anything-they desire-

    a person proclaiming

    that there’s a somebody

    in everybody and-any-

    and anybody, with

    can uplift somebody

    at anytime, wherever,

    and absolutely-

    nobody can stop it!

    to fly in a flock

    one night while i was asleep in bed,

    there came a thought of flying in my head-

    an emotional fantasy,

    with captivating ecstasy,

    did inspire me with wings to spread.

    i flew to the mansion on high,

    it was not how i dreamed i could fly-

    i never hesitated,

    but,
