About this ebook

This is a simple story of search for the comforts of a new mate when the one you spent a lifetime with leaves you behind. People do find new mates, but there are so many differences. Who will leave the home with so many memories, how do you deal with the feelings of being unfaithful, and how do you find someone you can also be a friend to as well as a mate? Sam and Elsie were next door neighbors, adding a track record of friendship, while at the same time causing yet another complexity. One More Time isn't all that complicated a story, and no conflict over and above what a normal couple would have has been engineered for drama. Life is dramatic enough as it is.

Doctor of Chiropractic since 11/1984. Former Chief of Nuclear Medicine, Lutheran Medical Center, St. Louis, MO. Volunteer EMT, Hurley Fire and Rescue Squad, Hurley NY. Folk musician, volunteer soundman for the Hudson Valley Folk Guild. Kiwanis Club of Kingston. Society for Creative Anachronism fighter, archer, and chirurgeon. Greetings and welcome to my website. Thanks for stopping by. I welcome you to download VANESSA with my complements and see if you like the style. I'm told by readers the first two chapters are a slow acceleration (others say 'no problem') and then it takes off from there as a great page turner. Each of the four sequels had good reviews on first released a few years back, so I hope you'll try those as well. Time Snap and Hell Rise were more recent efforts I hope you'll like. The short stories have been a lot of fun to write, and are getting good response levels. Thank you all so very much! Long and merry life, best of health, David L Howells PS: I've done my best to filter out errors in the copy, but if you see one on any of the works, please notify me at twosword at earthlink dot net? I'd appreciate it (just include a three word sequence and which title, and I'll fix it with a search and correct). Happy reading!

    Sam

Sam Carney, a name to do business with, read cards that people still carried in wallets and purses, though the man had retired from new and used car sales two years ago. Madison Motors on Verona Road, just off the West Beltline Highway in Madison, Wisconsin. Just shy of fifty years in the business of keeping America moving had earned him the trust of over three thousand customers. Eighty percent of those had eventually joined the ranks of trusting repeat customers. He had facilitated many ‘coming of age’ transitions as teenagers evolved into ‘away at collegers’. There had been many who started small and upgraded both business credentials and the sticker price on their transportation.

Your car says who you are, was one famous Carney quote. Caesar never drove a beater chariot, was another. Throw in, You can’t be a cruiser with a loser, and you were on your way to knowing the business mindset of Sam Carney.

Sam really did care about those who had placed trust in him for five decades. If the repair shop even looked like taking advantage of one of his lady customers, you could count on him nosing under the hood personally. Any time a new manager of the repair and maintenance department
