- Vanessa
1
A mentally fractured and hideously powerful spirit of a Georgian plantation and slave owner hold in thrall the men and mounts of a Civil War foraging party. She is avenging the death of her husband and children by putting the enemy spirits through a daily ritual of Hell. Ryan Fitzgalen was rendered spiritually clairvoyant and caused to be the world’s oldest man by a WW II experiment using electromagnetic power for naval stealth technology. He and the spirit of his deceased wife, Vanessa, are no match for Mad Annie, and so must call in his distant descendents to even the playing field. Even then, one of the Fitzgalen Family must fall.
- Vanessa: Family Tree
2
VANESSA ended at the site of a horrific spirit battle, with the Fitzgalen Family on the porch of the Edwards Estate. Annie was healed, and crossed over permanently, they thought. Family Tree picks up where VANESSA ended. In this sequel, you see where entity capabilities are more than previously thought. Family new members have been rendered clairvoyant, and take a new role in 'stuck spirit' assistance. The world attention garnered by the video of the Edwards Estate battle bring into play an investigatory team, including representatives of the National Guard, the FBI, Georgia police, CNN, and a ghost hunter with his spirit sensitive chihuahua, Atlas.
- Vanessa: All Heaven Breaks Loose
3
It was inevitable that the Fitzgalen Family's stock in trade would run loggerheads into powerful religious organizations who felt only the clergy had the answers to life after death. The danger is not in disagreement with such people, but when religious authority gains the power of military capability. In All Heaven Breaks Loose, the Family size nearly doubles, while Vanessa plans to leave the spirit world, tired of being numb, tired of not being the real world wife to her beloved Ryan. Spirit rescues also take on a whole new hue, for there are those spirits who are destined for a different kind of judgment. Finally, there is a greatly troubled living spirit that needs the help of Vanessa and Gustav to break free of the chains of a childhood trauma he doesn't even remember.
- Vanessa: Mended Harps
4
The Fitzgalen Family continues to grow. With evolving and growing resources both in finances and the Family membership roster, spirit rescue teams are sent around the globe to seek out and assist lost souls. In the process, the Family starts to make contact with other groups with similar goals, teaming up with them to tackle those cases that had stumped the other groups. Threatening to hamstring this process, the biological mother to the two Gladstone teenagers is suing for custody, fearing the dangers of Family membership and participation poses a very real danger to the children. Gustav, lawyer in his living days, must come out of 'RIP' status to defend the Gladstones in court. The Lincoln Marfan/oak tree merged entity poses a potential spiritual-flu problem to both teenagers, but on a larger scale, may represent a new competitive species.

Thanks for stopping by. I welcome you to download VANESSA with my complements and see if you like the style. I'm told by readers the first two chapters are a slow acceleration (others say 'no problem') and then it takes off from there as a great page turner. Each of the four sequels had good reviews on first released a few years back, so I hope you'll try those as well. Time Snap and Hell Rise were more recent efforts I hope you'll like. The short stories have been a lot of fun to write, and are getting good response levels. Thank you all so very much! Long and merry life, best of health, David L Howells PS: I've done my best to filter out errors in the copy, but if you see one on any of the works, please notify me at twosword at earthlink dot net? I'd appreciate it (just include a three word sequence and which title, and I'll fix it with a search and correct). Happy reading!
