    CHAPTER 1

Precisely at ten p.m. an Ascended Master from the Astral plane appeared at each of the households where guests would be taken to Jayna and Ethan’s wedding. As safety was always the first consideration, each Master put a circle of protection around the household, making sure that while the residents left their physical bodies, they would be safe. The circle of protection would ensure that no fire, break-in or any kind of calamity could happen by accident or by design.

The Masters transported everyone to Sir Arthur’s home in the Astral plane where the bride and the guests would be dressed for the wedding.

Sir Arthur greeted them at the door accompanied by his wife, Lady Anne. Welcome to our humble abode, he said and invited them in. This is Lady Anne, my wife, and your many-times-great-grandmother.

Lady Anne was short of stature and pleasantly plump. She had rosy cheeks, smiling blue eyes and was already dressed in her best finery for the occasion of Jayna’s wedding. Her snow-white hair was braided and wrapped around her head like a halo. She wore a brocade, floor-length gown in forest green and emeralds around her neck, ears and hands. She was an angelic figure, reminiscent of a fairy godmother. Waves of love emitted from her to the guests.

Welcome to our home, children, Lady Anne said.

Bill looked at his ancestral-great-grandmother with awe. He had never been so proud of his heritage as at this moment. He was a descendant of Sir Arthur and Lady Anne; and here they were standing right in front of them, for all to see.

Their home was an English cottage complete with an English garden. The guests were in awe of the Astral plane; although they were well informed about the vibrancy of colors, sounds and textures in this dimension, no amount of warning could have prepared them for the real experience.

For the moment, Bill had swallowed his tongue. He’d find his voice soon enough, no one doubted it.

Jayna, my dear, you and the ladies will go to the room on the right, just up the stairs, that way, Lady Anne pointed. Estelle already brought your garments.

Gentlemen, I will show you to the room where you may change, Sir Arthur said, leading Bill and Paul to another room on the main floor. Liam tagged along.

Come along my dears, Lady Anne said and led the way upstairs.

The women - from the three year old Hope to the mature and experienced Evelyn and Ayshen - sucked in their breath when they walked into the room where all the dresses were floating in midair as if hung on invisible wires.

Each dress was more beautiful than the next. Jayna’s wedding gown was breathtaking and more beautiful than any one of them could have imagined. It was fitted around the bust and waist and flared out past the hips flowing into a train at the back. The bust was covered in diamonds that sparkled as only diamonds in the Astral plane could sparkle. Her headpiece of white peacock feathers and jewels with her veil floated above the dress.

Pavlina’s maid of honor dress was a gold, slim fitting gown; it had diamond appliqued straps that also trimmed the edges of its bareback. A pair of Jimmy Choo shoes floated just below the dress. Pavlina thought she would faint at the sight of her Jimmy Choos.

Grace’s lilac gown was cut in the empire style and had a sheer piece attached to each shoulder that reached the hemline. Evelyn’s outfit was a three piece sage green ensemble; her long skirt was topped by a lace camisole and completed with a sheer lace jacket with long sleeves. Ayshen’s dress was made in pewter taffeta.

All the dresses came with their corresponding accessories. Not a single detail was left out from their magazine clippings.

Each woman ran to her chosen dress and touched the fabric. Everything in the Astral world was so surreal to them they had to touch it to make sure it was real.

Lady Anne looked at Jayna and telepathically asked, May I?

    Of course, great-grandmother, Jayna said.

Lady Anne raised her hands and closed her eyes for a split second. The gowns were now adorning their owners. The women shrieked in delight. They were instantly dressed and ready.

Seeing Jayna in her wedding gown, Grace burst into tears. Jayna made a stunning bride. Her deep copper hair shone, her turquoise eyes sparkled with happiness, and her dress fit her like a glove.

Grace ran to her daughter and hugged her. Jayna, she said in tears, you are the most beautiful bride I have ever seen.

Jayna hugged her mother, Thank you mom, I am just so happy. I never thought I would live to see this day.

I am so proud of you, honey, Evelyn said. You made us very happy. I wish you and your young man a lifetime of happiness.

This is the most exciting wedding I’ve ever attended, and we are not even there yet, Ayshen said.

Hope came and pulled Jayna’s hand. You are beautiful, Jayna.

Jayna bent down and kissed Hope’s cheek. Thanks, sweetie, so are you.

Pavlina looked at her best friend and let the tears run without shame. I love you, Jayna, she said. You’ve been my best friend and sister for as long as I can remember. I give thanks that you’ve been permitted to marry the love of your life. Ethan is a lucky guy. Pavlina wiped the tears from her eyes.

Everyone, but Lady Anne were in tears. Lady Anne closed her eyes for a moment and wished for calm. The ladies were quite excited and rightfully so, but they had a wedding to attend. Lady Anne’s calming thoughts settled everyone.

Ayshen wanted to lighten the mood. Making dresses out of thin air is a handy skill, she said. I wish I could do that when my kids got married.

Well, this is heaven, after all, Lady Anne countered and everyone laughed.

Shall we go down, their hostess asked.

The ladies nodded and turned towards the door. Lady Anne transported them all downstairs with a single thought.

Oh, said the guests - surprised at this mode of travel. Jayna and Hope giggled.

Sir Arthur had used his Astral skills to dress the men. Paul and Bill cut dashing figures in their black tuxes and top hats. Liam was quite amused by the tail of his tux. Sensing that more tears were about to spill, Sir Arthur and Lady Anne spread some more calmness all the way around and everyone instantly relaxed.

Paul ran to his daughter and hugged her. Jayna, honey, you are beautiful, he said his eyes barely watering.

Jayna smiled calmly, Thanks dad, you are quite handsome yourself; you too, grandpa. I love men in tuxes.

Sir Arthur looked at is wife, they exchanged a few silent words that the guests could not hear.

It is time to take everyone to the Unicorn Valley, said Sir Arthur.

Estelle and her friends have set up a tent for the wedding, not that we have to worry about rains since that can be controlled quite easily. The tent is for ambiance more than anything else. I am sure you will like it. Lady Anne explained.

Estelle wanted to make this wedding as Earthy as possible. There will be many guests from both dimensions; but you will be able to tell the Astral residents apart from those who are from Earth.

Sir Arthur looked directly at Jayna and asked, Are you ready, my dear?

Yes, Jayna said ready to face her destiny - the first human bride to be married in the Astral plane.

Sir Arthur was more than happy to oblige, he transported everyone to the wedding site.

There was a huge tent set up in the gorgeous valley, but they found themselves in a much smaller one that was an extension of the bigger structure.

The unicorns were milling about just outside of the tent. There were many peacocks with their magnificent plumes in full display and as promised by Estelle, there were also some white peacocks in attendance. Each one had taken up a post at a strategic position and had become part of the decor. They were standing on columns of varying heights and shifting their poses every so often as they fluttered their plumes.

Jayna quickly said thank you to them telepathically. The peacocks acknowledged Jayna’s gratitude and broadcasted to the guests that the bride had arrived.

A hush fell over the crowd and a celestial music filled the air.

Jayna wondered where Ethan was waiting for her. Picking up on her thoughts, Lady Anne answered her.

Your young man and his family are over yonder, my dear, in the great tent waiting for you at the altar. The Council will begin the ceremony shortly. We set this tent up for you as a place to be comfortable while your family and guests adjust to the vibration of the valley.

There were comfy settees onto which Lady Anne encouraged them to sit and relax while she continued to permeate calmness to the group.

Hope held her mother’s hand and didn’t let go. Pavlina was grateful that her daughter was an old hand at Astral matters. Hope was doing an awesome job at putting her mother at ease. Everyone else needed Lady Anne’s help and so she generously provided as much tranquility as they needed. When she judged them calm enough, she said, We have a special guest here tonight that I am sure you will be very happy to see.

Ayshen’s deceased husband appeared in his best Sunday suit in their tent, ready to join the festivities.

Nobody was expecting this surprise visit from their deceased neighbor, least of all Ayshen. She let out a cry of joy, jumped out of her seat and threw herself into her husband’s arms.

Oh my God, Mehmet, are you really here? she asked in their native tongue.

Somehow, Ayshen held it together and did not pass out from sheer excitement.

Yes, my dear, I am. How could I not attend Jayna’s wedding when you made it here all the way from Earth?

Ayshen was touching her husband’s face and shoulders and arms. Mehmet was really here, in the flesh.

I am as real here as I was on Earth, Ayshen, Mehmet said in his familiar voice. You of all people should believe it. You were the one who dabbled in spirituality, he reminded her.

Bill also jumped out of his seat and went to shake his neighbor’s hand.

Mehmet, buddy, how are you? he asked.

The neighbors shook hands the way they did when they were on Earth; everything felt so real, Bill was floored.

What a surprise to see you here, Bill, Mehmet said. How did they convince you to make this trip while still among the living? I thought you didn’t believe in this sort of thing, he joked.

Everyone laughed and it was like the old times when the two families got together. They all took turns hugging Mehmet and quickly brought him up to speed about Bill’s recent conversion to spirituality and mysticism.

Mehmet laughed enjoying the tale of his old neighbor’s determination to be inducted to the community of Lightworkers.

So, you wanna be a spiritualist, he said to Bill.

Bill was a bit embarrassed with all the attention, especially in front of Lady Anne, but he also didn’t want to miss his chance to make his intentions known.

I am hoping to be given the chance to do some training. I am a direct descendent of Sir Arthur and Lady Anne, you see; and I have two grandchildren who are already in their programs.

My dear, Billy, said Lady Anne, eager students such as you are always welcome and are encouraged to pursue training in spiritual matters. We can certainly talk about this after the wedding.

Bill was pleased and didn’t even mind being called Billy. This was his ancestral great-grandmother, after all. She could call him Billy if she so desired.

He hadn’t expected his enrolment to be this easy.

It sure helps when you know people, errr spirits, in high places, he thought. I better petition great-grandma while I can.

Lady Anne, ma’am, Bill faltered for a second, trying to come up with just the right words, I would be grateful if you could put in a good word for me with Sir Arthur. I am afraid I might have upset him with my unbelieving attitude when Jayna came to tell us the news of her engagement.

Lady Anne beamed, her angelic face shining even more brilliantly. I am sure I can do that for you, Billy; and you may call me grandmother. I am your ancestor, after all, she said in her sweet way.

Bill was ecstatic, It is a great honor to call you, grandmother, ma’am, he said and bowed like a courtier.

Evelyn looked at her husband and smiled. Bill was certainly having an awesome Astral experience. She knew that there would be no holding him back on his attempts to develop his spiritual skills once they were home.

    God help them all.

Grace and Paul were observing their surroundings carefully, trying to remember every little detail of this extraordinary event for the rest of their lives. They were first to notice that there was a young man who looked to be in his mid-thirties and dressed in jeans and a work-shirt that was standing to the side, looking at their little group. He must have just arrived, because he wasn’t there earlier.

When the man in jeans saw that his presence was noticed, he said hello in a shy manner. Everyone looked at him, but no one recognize him.

I am sorry to intrude on your special day, he said, I wanted to thank you all very much for helping my family. I am Joe, Marley’s husband.

Understanding dawned on Ayshen and Pavlina’s faces. Jayna had read his thoughts as he was saying hello and knew who he was.

Joe looked at Ayshen, Ma’am, I can’t thank you enough for finding shelter for my family, he said. If it wasn’t for you, my wife and children would have been homeless.

Joe then turned to Jayna and Pavlina, Thank you for caring enough to bring a bunch of strangers to your home and feeding them, he said, and you young lady, you heard my kids’ thoughts about being hungry on the playground and told your mom about it. Of course, you are a perfect Lightworker, and that is what Lightworkers do, help any way they can and spread light around them.

Joe walked over to Hope and took her little hand in his big one as he bent down, You are a little miracle worker. You set into motion a chain of events that saved a family from poverty. God bless you, little Lightworker. I will always be in your debt.

Hope put her arms around Joe’s neck and gave him a big hug. I know you watch over Marley and the children Joe. We do too, Hope said, always mature beyond her years, an evolved soul in the body of a child.

Bill was listening to this exchange with absolute amazement and seeing first hand what it took to be a Lightworker. He decided this was his time to start on his first mission.

Joe, I am Bill, Jayna’s grandfather and new to all this; but I give you my word that I will personally make sure that no harm will come to your family. I am not exactly sure what happened, but what I am gathering from you is that…. Bill hesitated for a few seconds, you have passed on and your family needed help…, Bill paused for a few seconds again, on Earth.

Joe nodded, That’s correct. I developed cancer and passed on very quickly which didn’t leave me much time to prepare for my family’s financial well being. My family was evicted from our rental property. Marley and the children - we have three - spent the first night in our car. This young lady heard my children’s thoughts in the playground about not having had anything to eat and told her mom; and these two young women went out of their way to feed my family without making them feel like beggars.

There were tears in Joe’s eyes. I was watching over my family, but there isn’t much a spirit can do on Earth, especially one who has only recently passed on. It broke my heart to see them spend the night in a car, and then have no money for food. They were starving; we have no family or close friends in the city whom they could turn to. I went to the Masters and begged them to help. They guided my family to go to the park where these Lightworkers frequent. I think the Masters did a lot of maneuvering that day to bring everyone together so that my family could be helped.

Joe was embarrassed. I am sorry, I crashed your wedding. I just wanted to thank you, now that you are all here and you can see me.

Why don‘t you stay and celebrate this day with us, Joe, Jayna said.

Oh, I wouldn’t want to be in the way. Joe was uncomfortable.

You won’t be in the way. Please, stay, Jayna said, and celebrate with us.

Sir Arthur appeared, this time he was wearing his official Council robes and had brought the rest of the wedding party that would be in the procession, Ethan’s nieces and nephew, Trevor’s twin daughters, Ayda and Asia, and Eve’s children, Noah and Naila. Noah was in his formal tux; the girls were wearing identical pink gowns, like Hope’s.

It is time, Sir Arthur said to Jayna.

Pavlina immediately took over. Everyone, like we rehearsed at home, let’s get in line, she said. Ayshen, you and Mehmet will be taken to your places in the front. Sir Arthur, if you could help, Pavlina asked, Joe can stand with Ayshen and Mehmet.

Of course, my dear, said Sir Arthur and hearing Pavlina’s silent wish dressed Joe in dress pants and shirt. Now, everyone was suitably dressed for the occasion.

Joe looked at his new clothes, and gave Pavlina a thumbs-up. This is the way he would have dressed if he was going to a friend’s wedding on Earth.

Pavlina said a silent Thank you after Sir Arthur and heard his response loud and clear in her head. She smiled, she could get used to this mode of communication.

Bill and Evelyn, please stand together right there. Hope and Liam, you two come over here. Asia and Ayda, over here, please, Pavlina slipped into her teacher’s voice and organized the procession. Noah and Naila stood behind their cousins, followed by Hope and Liam. Pavlina took her place in front of Jayna and her parents. She turned around to have one last look at Jayna before they marched down the aisle. This is it, Jay. Stand up straight, that’s it.

Pavlina adjusted Jayna’s veil. You are perfect, she declared.

Grace, you look lovely, Pavlina said. Tears were dancing in Grace’s eyes and Paul was quite.

Pavlina tuned to Lady Anne and silently asked her for some more tranquility. Lady Anne winked and obliged. Grace and Paul were much calmer instantly. Pavlina gave herself a mental pat on the shoulder for being a quick study and learning mental telepathic communication. Everyone was laughing at Bill for being so adamant about learning these skills, but she wasn’t much different; she just wasn’t so verbal about it.

You are perfect, my dears, Lady Anne said when the Master of Ceremonies announced that the bridal party was in procession.

Sir Arthur returned and took his place at the head of the group with Lady Anne by his side. The crowd parted as the wedding party walked down the isle. The Masters and everyone else involved in the ceremony were doing their best to make this Astral wedding as Earthy as possible.

The MC announced Sir Arthur and Lady Anne as the ancestors of the bride. Sir Arthur and Lady Anne were over the moon for taking part in the ceremony; they glowed like fireflies.

The members of the wedding party were introduced one by one as they took their place at the altar. At the mention of Bill’s name, he puffed out his chest to rival the peacocks in attendance. Evelyn smiled to all the guests and walked, her head held high. Grace and Paul walked on either side of Jayna. When the bride was announced, pink hearts of varying sizes rained down from the ceiling; they sparkled like the pink diamonds she was wearing, but upon touching the guests they dissolved like bubbles.

The choir was a group of angels with gossamer wings; it now made perfect sense why the music they heard earlier was so heavenly. The angels were singing. For a girl who fought demons on a regular basis and didn’t bat an eyelash, the site of angels singing at her wedding was too much. Tears ran down Jayna’s cheeks, her heart swelled the love. She was about to marry her soul mate.

There were no evil ones among the guests this night that would harm them as in their last incarnation in ancient Egypt. This time, they were well protected by none other than the Ascended Masters.

Jayna’s face was covered with her veil, but she could still see through the sheer material. When she reached the altar she was guided by one of the Masters to stand beside her bridegroom and hold his hand.

Ethan was waiting for her, his heart pounding with excitement; tears welled in his eyes at the sight of Jayna in her wedding gown. His heart burst with joy when Jayna placed her hand in his.

The Masters were lined up at the altar. Their voice echoed through the valley when they spoke as one voice.

"Divine souls, we are gathered here, at this most joyous occasion to witness and to celebrate Jayna and Ethan’s marriage. Their love for each another has stood the test of time and grows stronger each day. We, the Council of the Astral plane, give Jayna and Ethan our blessing. They will now say their vows to one another.

I, Jayna, declare my eternal love to you, Ethan; in this life and in all the lives I might have. I take you as my husband and pledge my life to you. I will laugh and cry with you; I will play and work with you; and I will live and die with you.

I, Ethan, declare my eternal love to you, Jayna. I take you as my wife and promise to love you more each day and protect you from harms way, today and forever. I want to share my life with you; grow old with you; and die with you.

Dear ones, you have witnessed this couple’s declaration of love and pledge to each other. Let no person question the authenticity of this marriage, for it will be recorded on Earth as it is being recorded in the Astral registry. Now, the rings, please.

The maid of honor and the best man came forward, each holding out a ring. The bride and groom took the rings and placed them on each other’s fingers as everyone watched.

The Masters spoke once again. Ethan, you may kiss your bride.

The tent erupted in a huge applause.

Ethan gently took Jayna’s veil and put it over her head, uncovering her face. Their eyes sparkled with love and happiness. He wrapped his arms around his bride and kissed her passionately setting off fireworks in the huge tent.

    Even the Masters applauded.

    CHAPTER 2

Let the festivities begin, said the Council.

Immediately, popular music, as if broadcast by a DJ from a local radio station, filled the tent. Jayna was so surprised she burst out laughing. Pavlina was looking at her dumbfounded.

Where is this music coming from, Pavlina wondered. Did they somehow beam up music from Earth to the Astral plane?

I actually don’t know who is playing this music, Jayna answered her Maid of Honor telepathically.

Ethan heard the silent conversations between the bride and her Maid of Honor and supplied the answer.

That’s Troy. He appointed himself DJ.

    You gotta be kidding me?

    Nope.

Jayna grabbed Ethan’s face between her hands and kissed him with exaggerated flourish. THANK YOU, she said. This is really turning out like a real wedding.

This is a real wedding. Didn’t you hear the Masters? We are husband and wife - for eternity.

Jayna shook her head to dismiss Ethan’s question. Of course, I heard the Masters. I just wasn’t expecting to hear popular Earth music after the Angel Choir that brought tears to my eyes.

We wanted to surprise you and it worked.

You sure did, and thank you, again. I want to introduce you to my parents and family, Ethan. They’ve been dying to meet you.

And I’ve been dying to meet them. Go ahead and introduce us, please.

Jayna turned around to face her parents who were watching her and Ethan closely. Grace was openly crying and not even trying to hide it.

    Mom, dad, this is Ethan.

Paul and Grace were too emotional to find their voices. Lady Anne thought she should let the proud parents shed a few tears of joy since the ceremony was done and it was party time.

Mr. and Mrs. White, I am honored to meet you. I love Jayna with all my heart. I give you my word that I will protect and cherish her forever. I promise.

Grace had fresh tears running down her face, but she managed to find her voice. We are very happy to meet you, Ethan.

She hugged Ethan and kissed his cheek. Paul shook Ethan’s hand and nodded to acknowledge Ethan’s declaration, but he still could not speak.

Young man, I am Bill, Jayna’s grandfather. Bill cut in and introduced himself.

Bill had found his voice earlier and wasn’t about to waste any more time gawking at things. This was his chance to meet as many people as he could, and make as many Astral and Earthly connections as possible.

It’s an honor to meet you, sir, Ethan said shaking Bill’s hand.

Evelyn also hugged Ethan. Welcome to the family, Ethan. We are very happy for you.

Nice to meet you, ma’am, Ethan said liking Jayna’s family instantly.

Ethan felt a tug on his tux and looked down. It was Hope. She was a sight to see; a wingless angel in her gossamer pink gown, her hair adorned by a tiara of pink flowers. Ethan scooped her up.

Hi there, Hope, he said, you are very beautiful tonight. Thank you for being in our wedding party.

Dimples appeared on Hope’s rosy cheeks as she smiled. "You are
