The Ultimate Truth Detector - Richard Carswell

    Dedication

This book is dedicated to the Earth and Consciousness itself. May the consciousness of humanity rise up to meet the urgency of our times whilst there is still a small window of opportunity and time left to heal our planet and preserve life on earth in a sustainable and loving way.

    Introduction

"Knowing is not enough; we must apply.

Willing is not enough we must apply doing."

If an elderly but distinguished scientist says that something is possible, he is almost certainly right; but if he says that it is impossible, he is very probably wrong.

    Arthur C. Clarke

I first was introduced to muscle-testing in 1982 in Colorado just a few months after I emigrated from Canada to the USA. Over the next three decades I bumped back into it from time to time and even attended some interesting seminars on the subject which always fascinated me. Muscle-testing when mastered is simply one of the greatest tools you can have in your personal development tool box. It takes the guess work out of the equation and allows you to zero in on the target answer in a myriad of topics within just a few moments. It can make your life easier diminishing the need for so much determination, strife, force and effort and when used wisely can dramatically allow your life to flow in more grace, synchronicity and ease.

Usually there are at least 2 ways to achieve any goal, one is the hard way and the other is the easy way. I asked a financially successful young businessman the other day if he wasn’t experiencing success as far as a particular goal was concerned and in fact was indeed failing, did he think that by increasing his level of effort, determination and hard work was the wisest solution? He thought for a moment and said well yes. And that is the erroneous myth that most of us have fallen for… the belief that Trying Harder instead of Trying Smarter is a wise strategy.

Trying Smarter, Not Harder is the wiser choice. It is a simplified explanation of the Law of Least Effort. If you like most of the people reading this book you have tried hard to become a better person over the years. However when it comes to accomplishing your goals in life working harder is not the best choice. Often when it comes to achieving your goals in life it is our very selves that seem to be out worst enemy. Inner conflict can keep you from having a life filled with goal achievement, peace, joy and happiness. Most people meet this inner conflict by doubling their efforts to overcome this resistance they feel inside. But rarely does this work in a satisfying way. Trying Harder isn’t the answer. The following story by Robert Williams of Psych-K illustrates this point quite dramatically.

I’m sitting in a quiet room at the Millcroft Inn., a peaceful little place hidden back among the pine trees about an hour north of Toronto, Canada. It’s just past noon, late July, and I’m listening to the desperate sounds of a life and death struggle going on a few feet away.

There’s a small fly burning out the last of its short life’s energies in a futile attempt to fly through the glass of the window-pane. The whining wings tell the poignant story of the fly’s strategy: Try Harder. But it’s not working. His frenzied effort offers no hope for survival. It is impossible for the fly to try hard enough to succeed at breaking the glass. Nevertheless, this little insect has staked its very life on reaching its goal through raw effort and determination. The fly is doomed. It will die on the windowsill.

Across the room, perhaps 10 steps away, the door is open. Ten seconds of flying time and this small creature could reach the outside world it seeks. With only a fraction of the effort now being wasted, it could be free of this self-imposed trap. The breakthrough possibility is there. It would be so easy.

Why doesn’t the fly try another approach, something dramatically different? How did it get so locked in on the idea that this particular route and determined effort offer the most promise for success? What logic is there in continuing until death to seek a breakthrough with more of the same? But no doubt this approach makes sense to the fly. Regrettably, it is an idea that will kill.

Let’s face it… Most people on planet earth live in a try harder world. It has been a prevailing paradigm of Western civilization for the past millennium. True, it is possible to experience tremendous satisfaction in overcoming obstacles and challenges with sheer willpower, effort and raw determination. That’s the kind of satisfaction athletes get by becoming the best in their field through extreme physical training. It is the exhilaration that comes to the mountain climber when he reaches the peak of Mt. Everest. It’s the feeling of accomplishment when a performer enjoys a standing ovation after years of disciplined practice. It’s when getting there is half the fun that effort, will power and struggle are desirable attributes in achieving our goals in life.

However when you are faced with the debilitating reality of self-defeating, sabotaging behaviors, habits and thoughts that just won’t yield to flapping your wings harder against the window pane of life, then getting there is NOT half the fun. In fact NOT getting there can be quite depressing and can lead to guilt, frustration and despair. Willpower and determination become a misdirected and often painful struggle. They become part of the problem rather than part of the solution.

The tyranny of trying harder is hardly the solution to achieving more. It rarely offers any real promise for getting what you want out of life. Often in fact, it’s a big part of the problem. If you stake your hopes for a breakthrough on trying harder than ever, you may kill your chances for success and maybe even yourself in the process. As the saying goes If you keep doing what you’ve been doing, you will get what you’ve always been getting. This book offers a better way than to just doubling your efforts and trying harder.

You too with a little patience and persistence can learn the skill as promised in the sub-title of this book and tap into the Infinite Universal Data-Base of Consciousness and discover the truth about anything, anywhere!

Chapter 1 Kinesiology: The Tool for Accessing the Truth

    Your Thoughts Become Your Words

    Your Words Become Your Actions

    Your Actions Become Your Habits

    Your Habits Become Your Values

    Your Values Become Your Destiny

    What is Kinesiology?

Kinesiology or muscle-testing is a brand of science which was developed by doctors, chiropractors and acupuncturists in the U.S.A. They pooled their knowledge and added it to Chinese medicine to develop a totally new technology which is amazingly efficient at balancing the body so that it can return to optimal health, energy and emotional strength. It stands apart from any other type of health technology largely due to its use of a revolutionary technique called muscle testing.

Note: The term kinesiology as used here is used to mean that which is connected with either Academic Kinesiology (including Applied Kinesiology) or Specialized Kinesiology and always includes manual muscle testing. It is not to be confused with another definition of ‘kinesiology’ which is that which is taught in some colleges and is defined simply as the branch of physiology that studies the mechanics and anatomy in relation to human movement.

Kinesiology is a truly 'holistic' system, because it looks at the whole person (not just at selected parts). When you step on a cat's tail, it's the other end that screams! Kinesiology looks at all types of stresses which can cause disease. They include emotional, nutritional, structural, environmental and electrical stress.

The basis of Kinesiology is that the body is like an electrical piece of equipment, which is controlled by an incredibly complex computer, namely the brain. The brain is continually in communication with each of the 639 muscles in the body. If a muscle is electrically in balance, it is possible to measure a constant electrical signal from the brain to that muscle and back again, much the same as two faxes 'talking' to each other.

However, when the body is overstressed (through a chemical, emotional, structural, environmental or electrical cause), the electrical signals in one or more muscles go weak. It is like a fuse in your fuse box blowing. The body figures that it is better to blow a fuse than the whole thing.

This is the basis of muscle testing, which is the main tool used in kinesiology. For example, if a person has a particular muscle in their arm 'out of balance' (as we say), then they will not be able to hold their arm in a certain position when the kinesiologist applies pressure to it.

This is particularly significant when you realize that many different parts of the body are in communication with many other parts of the body.

    Muscles communicate with muscles

    Muscles communicate with organs

    Organs communicate with muscles

    Organs communicate with organs

It is virtually impossible to completely heal the body without taking the whole picture into account.

Once the weakness is located through muscle testing, the kinesiologist then 'talks' to the body. The body can answer yes or no with a strong or weak muscle. For example, by use of muscle testing the kinesiologist can ask the body any of the following questions.

What caused this muscle to go out of balance? If it was a chemical he can ask the body what specific food or other substance caused the body to go out of balance. If it was a deficiency, he can find out what food will re-strengthen the body. Muscle testing shows whether a particular food weakens, is neutral to, or strengthens a particular body. Everybody is different at different times. When a body is well balanced, foods which were previously weakening may become neutral, and neutral foods may become strengthening.

If it was an emotion which caused the imbalance, the kinesiologist can ask the body via muscle testing what specific emotion is it? Once the emotion is identified, the kinesiologist can then do an extremely simple technique called emotional stress release.

If the person went out of balance due to an electrical cause (which is quite common), it can be determined whether this is being caused by an electric blanket, microwave oven, computer, pager, car, television or whatever else you think of.

Many people go seriously out of balance by simply using an electric blanket, eating micro-waved food or by working 7 hours in front of a computer. After the cause is located the person can remove the offending piece of equipment, or ask the kinesiologist to rebalance them to a new strength, so that next time they are around the piece of equipment for an extended period of time they will stay in balance. The brain is like a computer. This process of rebalancing is like reprogramming a computer.

A little-known fact is that many crystals are just the same as food, they can either weaken, be neutral to, or strengthen the body. A number of people are seriously out-of-balance due to the crystals that they wear in order to 'strengthen' themselves! This is one reason why kinesiology is such a boon to any type of healer. As people get more and more specific communication back from their body, they usually begin to take responsibility for their own health and have more knowledge of how to do that. When a big, tough guy sees that a puny girl can easily push his arm down when she says cigarettes alcohol or sugar, he often begins to think seriously about giving them up. Many people don't feel like giving up harmful habits because someone else has told them that they should but when their own body starts telling them in no uncertain terms that those habits are weakening it, then that is another matter.

In using muscle-testing, it is important that you are very precise in what you ask for, or what you put your attention on. If you give a sloppy unfocused question or direction you will get a confused answer.

One time in the late eighties I was on a television commercial set in South Florida where I was living and there was a big policeman there acting as police security. There was some down time so I was doing some muscle-testing to entertain some of the movie extras. I asked the policeman to participate. After demonstrating how to get the Yes and No response I asked him to hold his arm out and be strong as he simply said the words I have meaningful & fulfilling work. Everyone including the police officer was amazed how his arm went weak like a baby kitten with broken legs. He objected to the muscle-testing’s answer No saying that he loved his job. I said well do you really think that giving traffic tickets for speeding is meaningful and fulfilling work? Obviously he had more potential than that.

Whether or not the cause of the imbalance is identified, the kinesiologist is able to ask the body which particular areas of the body should be touched in what particular way to correct the imbalance. The brain becomes aware of the problem and finds the electrical pathways which were blocked or forgotten about, and rectifies the situation. Typically people notice an immediate (and hopefully long-lasting) absence of pain in the troubled area and within a few days afterwards many of any other symptoms go away.

Often times to alleviate health challenges (emotional or physical) the body-mind connection via muscle-testing will reveal toxic substances, foods, environments and even people that when removed from the subject will result in an amazing healing.

Kinesiology is a holistic way of detecting and correcting imbalances in your body’s energy. These imbalances may relate to stress, injury, nutrition, learning difficulties, pain, anxiety, toxic emotions, environment or some other cause.

Kinesiology is the use of muscle-testing to find out where these imbalances are and what is needed to correct them. Your body has channels of energy running through it, which are called meridians, and these may be blocked in some way. By testing various muscles we can get a read-out of what is happening with them, and correct them. Your body
