Overview: The Paradise Wrestling Club is a modest gym in Hyannis, Massachusetts, owned and operated by Stew Mulligan. While he sweats to make the gym the best in the Boston area, and once again launch his career as a premier wrestling personality and promoter, his mother, Paradise, cunningly persuaded him to operate the unexciting Mulligan’s Bar & Grill, catering to the blue collar and lesser trade. A fortunate consequence to the eatery, Stew Mulligan was able to keep many of his transient, young scufflers actively employed, while attempting to enhance their wrestling skills.
note: At the conclusion is the history of the Mulligan family.
TEN PART SERIES
CAST OF MAIN CHARACTERS
1. STEW MULLIGAN: The once famous wrestler with the warrior name Mad Mulligan had sustained a freak injury to his knees that compromised a remarkable career and reduced him to an also ran. With the Paradise Wrestling Club he impatiently searched for the perfect wrestler to regain his past glory.
2. PARADISE MULLIGAN: The eccentric 64-year-old mother of Stew Mulligan owns the building at 103 Abby Lane, Hyannis, Massachusetts, which contained the gym, Mulligan’s Bar & Grill, and boarding house. A one of a kind original who never considered the fact she isn't thirty-five anymore, Paradise still has the ability to turn a few heads. Her one saving grace is the uncompromising love for her granddaughter, Party Mulligan, who created more mischief than a buxom Friday night barmaid.
3. PARTY MULLIGAN: The fifteen-year-old daughter of Stew Mulligan, Party would try anything twice. As a want to-be, can do everything misfit, Party would attempt the wildest schemes to be a professional wrestler. With the personally of a young Mae West and the common sense of a doorknob, she enjoys life to the fullest. Stew Mulligan wants her to attend Boston University and become a lady of refinement, while Party desired to become the first wrestling-stunt girl-actress. As the masked ‘Sparkling Sara,’ Party Mulligan attracts a loyal, fanatical following. Her father has no knowledge she performs as the almost nude, long legged wrestler.
4. MOICH WEINBERG: A midget promoter, and the lesser half of a twin brother, he spent time in prison for tax evasion and paranoid about it every since. His fetish is tall, skinny blonds with limited brain mass. Moich would manage anyone, providing he or she can step into a ring and give the audience ten minutes of action. His top scuffler is Spike Bulldog Chestnut, a brawny, bald, grunt of four hundred pounds who hates wrestling, but lacked talent for anytime else. Also in his wrestling stable are Fast Phyllis, Billy Roadkill, Two-Ton Tessie and Oven Ready. Moreover, the crowd loves them and believes the antics are part of the act. Moich eat it up in more ways than one.
5. IRVING WEINBERG: The twin midget brother of Moich, and a capable part-time wrestler, works as a short order cook at Mulligan’s Bar & Grill. A mild manner man with many vices, including Alice, his nagging wife, Irving supports Stew Mulligan’s dream heart and soul, while taking his shortness
to new heights.
6. ALICE WEINBERG: The wife of Irving (also a midget), chief cook and sometimes waitress at Mulligan’s Bar & Grill, she occasionally relieves tension by jumping into the ring. In her prime, she called herself, ‘LeToch LeTrick,’ wore a top hat and faked a gimpy leg. Now days Alice holds a simple belief that Irving is a unrivaled idiot, but stuck by circumstances and poor judgment, she remains the loyal and frustrated wife. With a sharp knife and a temper to match, Alice is not in wonderland.
7. KATE ADAMS: A lovely, twenty-five year old with the spirit of a frisky puppy, she is intelligent, witty and a first-class knockout. Everyone tries to get in, only to be rebuffed. Her only dilemma, she has the ‘hots’ for Stew Mulligan, while he remains ignorant of her intentions. Kate believes her only hope to get Stew Mulligan is to totally share his interests and become a professional wrestler. In her questionable quest, she secretly works out with Moich Weinberg. Undeniably, Moich’s interests are more than a mere trainer. Kate quickly learns the wrestling game, Moich style, but lacks the courage to set foot into the ring a second time.
8. MARY PRIMROSE: Thirty-year-old chunky matron, plain as the hills of Ethiopia, originally was hired to baby-sit and later chaperone Party Mulligan. Currently, Mary co-manages Mulligan’s Bar & Grill. She also has wishful designs on Stew Mulligan, who playfully encouraged her delusion.
9. JACK MURPHY: In the ring Handsome Jack has the grace of a 270-pound dancing swan, especially in his Spandex tutu and thirty-inch waist, 6’4’ frame. Jack represents Stew Mulligan’s ticket to the big time wrestling game. However, Handsome Jack is allergic to sweat, principally when battling an opponent. When the sweat touches his meaty hands, Handsome Jack freaks out.
10. SPIKE BULLDOG CHESTNUT: A burly four hundred pound bald wrestler, whose body looks as if carved from a single piece of rock, Chestnut is Moich Weinberg’s main dollar attraction. Outside the ring, Chestnut is a big teddy bear with a mild personality and a heart of gold, but a secret too bizarre to repeat. If anything happened to Party Mulligan, he would rip the perpetrator to shreds.
11. TOM FLETCHER: The 30-year-old bulky bartender exposed himself to Party Mulligan without being solicited (a rarity for Party). Party Mulligan claimed it looked like a little finger with one eye.
12. TWO-TON TESSIE: The 27 year old, 6'11, and 369 pound wrestler with hair on her chest, and famous for trademark braided blond hair perched on top of her head. In full fighting attire with platform sneakers she stands at 8'2
. A famous sneaker designer is creating a pair to add two more inches.
13. JOHNNY COMELATELY: The 19-year-old part-time weightlifter, winner of the Massachusetts Amateur Junior Level Weightlifter title and wrestler in training, Johnny is ruggedly handsome with curly back hair and brown eyes. A two-inch scare under his right eye makes him look tougher than he is. At 185 pounds, six foot one inch he doesn't have the mass to compete as a professional wrester, by Stew Mulligan thinks he has potential. Party Mulligan knows he has potential.
14. PATTI DELANEY: The boyish 26-year-old part time security guard at the Bridgewater State University Complex and the daughter of Double Chin Delaney, a reputed mob boss in Boston.
15. DOUBLE CHIN DELANEY: The 62-year-old 'wiseguy" reputed to be a mob boss in Boston, Massachusetts, but in reality, he is no wiseguy, merely a foulmouthed, oversized, cigar smoking small time hood with a laundry list of petty offenses. His only claim to fame is a smart 26-year-old daughter - PATTI DELANEY.
16. MUDREY MEADOWS a/k/a: PLUMP YOUNG WOMAN: The 31 year old, blue eyed, pleasantly chunky with a million dollar smile, Mudrey has an odd body shaped as if she's a cartoon female version of the Michelin Man. Behind her back they call her Three Tits.
17. BILLY ROADKILL: The 35-year-old professional wrestler and part time bus driver is extremely skinny and quicker than a cat. Loves to recite poetry, enjoys knitting Detroit Tigers baseball socks and cleaning chimneys.
18. HACKSAW LONGBREAD: The over-the hill
wrestler is 55 years old with no neck and 25 inch bicep, only responds by saying yes
and no.
At 350 pounds he drinks like an elephant with two trunks and farts like a greyback gorilla.
19. A. J. SNAPPERTURTLE: An albino female wrestler - built like a brick shithouse - 34 years old and hairless with pink eyes. Considers everyone except herself to be abnormal.
20. OVEN READY: A forty-year-old female wrestler who always looks pregnant, which she is not. Excellent technical expertise, but hates the sport, Oven Ready would rather be a marijuana farmer in California.
21. SMALL FINGER FLYNN: The 28 year old small time hood with the brainpower of a 15-Watt light bulb has the skill set of a lost cause. Born Errol Flynn after the famous actor of Robin Hood fame, but when he failed to match the in like Flynn
sexual exploits of the man, he was forever marked by an upsized penis - thus named small finger.
22. DUFFY BOYLE III: Called Turd
from the Third in his name, Duffy Boyle could have been anything he wanted, expect for falling out of a tree on his head at age seven. Walking away from a fifty million dollar family trust to be a gangster, Turd enjoys the action of working the streets for a twenty spot in his pocket.
