About this ebook

A college novel with a revolving narrative. Not everyone has a good time, not everyone has a bad time, and not everything balances out as the most tragic common denominator, time, plays foot to the hand of experience.

This is quite possibly the worst book I have ever read. It is so poorly written that it is difficult to get through. Everything is described in complete detail, things like "Erik put the fork in his bowl, lifted it to his mouth, took it out of his mouth, and started to chew." Tedium, tedium, tedium. To the reviewers who think this must be the "real college experience" - it isn't. It's nowhere close. Guys in college do not think this way, do not talk this way, and do not act this way. There is no plot in this novel, there is no character development, and there aren't even interesting characters to begin with. I finished this whole novel hoping it was a bad joke - apparently, it isn't. Hard to believe.

I received the book free from Library Thing to read and review. I probably would not have read this book if I hadn’t received it, as I tend to read romances or mysteries. However, this was well written, except for the fact that I found the author’s way of showing what characters were say a little off-putting until I got used to it. I guess I prefer the usual way. This book is well written. All the characters are well thought out and developed. My one problem was that there was little if any plot. The book read more like a diary than a book. I am used to seeing a plot developed throughout, and realized that by the time I had read a good portion, there was not going to be much of one. It has been quite a while since I went to school, so I cannot comment well on the authenticity of the way college life is depicted. It was definitely interesting, nothing like my years at a small Catholic girl’s school. Still, I imagine this is how college life is like for students attending a large university. I thought the character with the crutches gave the author an opportunity to offer the reader something different from the others and was well done (speaking as one who has had the unfortunate “luck” to hobble around on crutches for a time or two). That was a great idea on the author’s part. I agree with all the reviews written that this should be required for all students going to a large school, because it probably is a good presentation of what college life is like. I wish something like this had been around for me when I was off to college.
