Chapter 1

Lisa looked at her costume in disgust her excitement fizzling out. How did Maggie talk her into these things? Going to the firm’s annual Halloween masquerade as a burlesque dancer, crazy.

Don't be a baby Lisa. Put it on.

Shaking her head in adamant refusal she turned away from the bed. No way!

Maggie grabbed her arm holding tight. This is a chance to let yourself go, be sexy. The mask gives you anonymity. Live your fantasy Lisa. Lisa hated when Maggie was right. Come on hon, it’s just one night and no one will ever know.

Fine… She slammed the door to remind her friend of her unhappiness.

Fitting herself into a black satin corset with pink lace, she followed it with a knee length petticoat in pink cut off in the front then gathered with pink satin ribbon and pinned to a white petticoat tutu with pink trim. She slipped black nylons on. Two tiny white bows peeking out. Next, the pink g-string with a built-in sheer black skirt and baby pink satin ruche garter straps. Topping off the outfit, a black satin mask trimmed in a soft pink and matching pink knee high boots, with black fingerless gloves.

Leaving her long chestnut hair, flowing down her back she threaded pink and black ribbons through the curls. Thanking god for the small snow flurries earlier in the day, she wore a black velvet cloak over her outfit.

Maggie's outfit didn’t cover much more than Lisa's did. With a red and black zipper back corset style top, wrap around skirt, red and black choker, black fishnet thigh high stockings, red garters and black high heels. She made the perfect cancan girl. She added a red and black sequence mask to the ensemble, company rules, remain a mystery until midnight.

They both planned to walk the few blocks to the ranch house the company used for their party. The rumor was the ranch belonged to the owner of the company’s childhood friend and sometimes business associate Marcus Danes, but no one had actual proof. Lisa knew the truth, but she had no intention of telling a soul. They wanted it kept a secret for a reason. The ranch was decorated every year with all the macabre stereo typical hype of the season. Unlike the normal rich and famous they didn’t pay for an outrageous decorator, everything was done by the local kids.

The company bought all the materials then donated them to the local schools in the form of a competition. All the created decorations would be used, but the top six in each category received prizes. The top prize, a full scholarship
