The Stiggy stories are from my time when I lived in Oliver's Farm, a 450 year old farm House in Kent, England. All the animals are real and lived on the farm with me. Also, the stories are events that actually did happen. After a long and eventful life, Stiggy passed away and was buried in the top field of Oliver's farm, surrounded by the ghosts of his old friends.

Valerie Godfrey

I was born in the village of Shadoxhurst, which is near Ashford in Kent, England. I have three children, who are all grown and gone. I read to them from an early age and I hope I've passed on to them the love of books and reading. I've always had a love of books and read from a very early age. I do enjoy fiction but mainly biographies and autobiographies. I've come to writing at a late age, when most people have put their feet up. I guess I've always had a story in me, but the time never seemed right to set it down. I worked with children in schools as a Teaching Assistant, mainly with SEN children, I've always enjoyed reading aloud to children, they get so caught up in the story, as I do. I divide my time between the Charente in France and Hay-on-Wye in Wales. I've absolutely loved writing the Stiggy stories, and hope you'll read them to your children and grandchildren.

Stiggy is missing!

This is a true story about a dog called Stiggy.

Stiggy is a brown and white springer spaniel, with a brown wet nose, long silky ears and a mop of unruly brown curls on top of his head. Big brown eyes that look up at you as though 'butter wouldn’t melt in his mouth'.. A good dog, but sometimes a very, very naughty and mischievous dog.

Stiggy was not a pup, and yet, not quite a grown up dog He was an inbetweenie. Yes, his was defiantly an inbetweenie, Full of mischief and getting into all sorts of scrapes and troubles.

Stiggy lived on a farm with a horse called Santy, a pony called Sultan and a silver tabby cat call Whiffen. Also, lots of rabbits lived on the farm, they lived in the orchard next door to the farm house. Beyond, up through the orchard gate, into the first field, there was a small wood where a family of badgers lived. And in the top field, lived a family of foxes, who, on a clear
