UNTOUCHED

Laser beam ladder of shimmer,

Cosmic remnant of orphaned breath,

This rainbow,

Laced with glistening gemstones.

Sparkling shards, chunks of light

Reclaimed from scattered stardust,

Spilling from the trembling lip of the sky,

Tipping the razor’s edge.

Swirling through this moment

Time solidifies.

A masterful stroke of the brush;

Sparkles and sequins,

Vibrating swirling pastels

Come alive in the Artist’s hands.

This is the shot silk technicolor scarf,

The sky has chosen to wear for us today;

A living still life painting

Breathing beauty into our eyes

And peace into our soul

As we pass,

Unnoticed,

and untouched

Through the pristine down

Of her feathered embrace.

BUTTERFLY EFFECT

Dark and light wafer wings

Contrasting pink petals,

Eyelids fluttering

Within a sunbeam;

And beauty was born,

Formed into moments like this,

Cleansed by a raindrop,

Towelled dry in a zephyr,

Wandering lost

In this wonderland of colour.

Pulsating proboscis

Sucking sweet nectar,

Feather light,

Paper weight wings

Caressing the petal,

Gathering pollen,

Scattering seed.

Slow motion,

Kaleidoscope lens

Zooming in

On this live Monet painting;

Bright dancing with dark,

Magicians and angels

On vivid forest green canvas.

White angel wings,

Black magic hat,

Nature’s wizardry

Creating

The beauty,

The dynasty,

The monarch,

The butterfly effect.
