About this ebook
Our Millie stories recounts an innocent and simple time when the important things in life were family, friends, helping people, animals, giving and living with nature and seeing life in a clearer and more honest way. The stories are amusing, fun to read, and sometimes rather sad, but they reflect the way life was and the way it can still be in the memory and heart of those who lived in that time and experienced the true joy of each day. Our Millie takes life as it comes and makes the most of each moment.
Judy Allen
Judy Allen is the author of "Our Millie and other random musings. She lives in Central Ohio with her semi-retired husband, deaf Dalmatian and one-eyed cat. She has two grown daughters who live nearby. She liberally uses her extremely patient family's willingness to listen, read and critique the ideas that jump from her head and appear on paper. The Dalmatian can't hear the stories but is a comfort as he lies at her feet, and the Cat doesn't care as long as she gets petted and fed on schedule. Judy grew up an only child, on a farm in Southern Ohio. She learned to appreciate the love of the land and the beauty of nature. Chores had to be done and animals and crops attended in order to grow and thrive. The land could be hard and times could be lean but there was always the joy of life and the resiliency of her family, friends and neighbors. She is eternally thankful to Ohio University, Athen, Ohio for affording her opportunities in education and carrer that otherwise would not have been hers. They truly opened doors. She graduated with her BS ed, cum laude and taught special education classes on the elementary level before marrying her wonderful husband and raising her two lovely daughters. Judy has many interest including family, sports - Go Buckeyes and Bobcats - photography, animals, travel and observing life around her. She enjoys being the voice of Our Millie and bringing her to life for the amusement and entertainment of her readers. She would be happy to hear from you and can be reached through her links and by email at writerju@yahoo.com.

What readers are saying about Our Millie
Solely by the luck of the draw I edited this book. It was so much fun that I just wanted to jump into the stories with Millie and company. The anecdotes are engaging, ageless and entertaining. Find the time to read this book.
Karen Lieberman, PhD, R.D., Managing Editor, Telemachus Press
Our Millie
is a down-to-earth story packed with humor and tantalizing situations. It provides insight into how some people spend their daily lives without the requirements of sex, crime and war so prevalent in other writings. It tends to make one yearn for the simpler life styles that few of us are blessed to enjoy.
Donald Eugene Pearce, Sr.
What a fun, wonderful and easy book to read. I related to many of the stories. Our Millie was written in a very unique and interesting way. I loved the sense of humor most of all and look forward to the next book.
Julie Watkins
What a truly delightful compilation of humor-filled, deep south stories, full of rich, fun descriptions and endearing tales. I absolutely loved Our Millie Leaves Home
and can't wait to read more.
Kara McKenzie, Author of A Gate Called Beautiful
These stories are great. I get so involved in them that I end up talking like Our Millie for a bit. They would make wonderful story books.
Rhonda Burnham, Quebec, Canada
I just love Millie. She reminds me of a simpler way of life, where family and friends were more important than anything. Judy Allen brought to life each and every character and brought them into the reader's home. I cannot wait to read more about their adventures.
Cheryl Holewinski
We have been taken back. Our world of 2012 is moving so fast, so it's time to enjoy the world through Our Millie.
I am looking forward to reading more and keeping up with these wonderful adventures. I like the references to the county fair Outhouse Queen … I am from a town that lives for this special time of the year—we build our social calendars around it … And when she speaks of the Ma, Pa, brother Billy Bug you can't help but feel the warmth and humor and a blend of emotions. Judy Allen has captured these feelings and is guiding us all on a journey that teaches us lessons in life!
Becky Blocksom, From Her Heart Ministries
It is true that Our Millie is growing up in a more simple time and place, yet her observations of the people around her reveal a perception and understanding of human nature that is very charming. One wonders if the gadgets of the 21st century (video games,iPods and the ever present cell phones) have really made life any better. It would seem far more healthy to walk down
