Introduction
Here I am sitting at a seaside café on a beautiful summer’s day enjoying a glass of chilled white wine. I’m not really thinking of anything, just trying to crack the last few clues of my cryptic crossword puzzle. I do this every day as a ploy to keep any possible onset of Alzheimer’s at bay. I read somewhere if you do this it is like exercising your brain cells, it’s like doing push- ups for upper body strength (see my book The Binomial Man) (don’t ask me to explain what on earth the title means, sorry, you will have to buy the book).
Anyhow as I look up I see this dude getting out of his car with his family to go for a stroll with his family along the seawall promenade. You can see at a glance he is a Master of the Universe. Yep. That’s a Mercedes SLR McLaren ASMA Design Perfectus worth at least $500 000. Even from where I’m sitting I can see a glint of a $20000 Vacheron Constantin watch. And there’s his DESIGNED wife, as pretty as picture, a suitable trophy for his acknowledged skills as a honed trader and astute stock market investor. Even when he walks its sort of a lope, with his lower jaw jutting forward, like ex President Clinton used to do in order to adopt the heroic pose that goes with his persona. Yep. This dude is a winner, no one can deny that. He has had the most amazing streak on the stock market and has almost a rock star status. Hordes of stock market information hungry potential investors follow his every pronouncement with keen interest. I sure wish I was I was as successful as him. But don’t they say you should be happy with your lot? After all it’s a short life; you should make the most of it whatever your circumstances. Got it! That clue that was eluding me for hours! Another victory against Alzheimer’s!
FLAAAAAAAAAAAAAASSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSHHHHHHHHHH!
You know what that is?
Its 10 years and it’s all gone in a FLASH! Yep! Just like that!
I’m back at the same place, I’m still doing the cryptic crossword puzzle, it’s a beautiful day, and I have a glass of chilled white wine complete with ice cubes.
Hello! What’s that? Heck I recognize that dude!
Yep! It’s our old friend the Master of the Universe!
But that car looks a bit dodgy doesn’t it? Heck he looks positively tatty! Is that his DESIGNED wife? No! Things have changed! It’s his RESIGNED wife. Shame! Her whole demeanor is different.
What happened to his loping walk? His heroic lower jaw jutting out as he forges his meteoric progress around the world? Why is he walking all slouched? Doesn’t look good folks!!
Yep! I guess he never got the chance to read this article and concocted a powerful cocktail of The 7 Deadly Stock Market Sins.
