THE SIZE OF YOUR SUCCESS IS DETERMINED BY THE SIZE OF YOUR BELIEF

"The size of your success is determined by the size of your belief." Those thirteen simple words rocked my life on a Saturday night in October 1997.

I was attending a seminar in Jacksonville, Florida, when the speaker uttered those words. As I look back on it now, it’s amazing that I had read them several times before that night in the classic book, The Magic of Thinking Big, by Dr. David Schwartz.

The impact they had was almost mystical. Something in my Spirit erupted upon hearing those words, and I knew instantly that I’d been given the answer I’d been seeking for the better part of five years (but really for my entire life).

Before that night: Eighteen months before that Saturday night, my family and I were unceremoniously evicted from our home. We’d been given 48 hours by a judge to find a new place to live, although we had no money and nowhere to go.

Five months earlier our car had been repossessed (I drove to the event in a 12-year-old bomb I borrowed from a friend). We qualified below the U.S. poverty level for a family of five, and had I earned just $14,027 for the entire year.

After that night: Within 90 days of that night, big things began to happen. People and opportunities seemed to come out of the woodwork (they had been there all along, but I couldn’t see them because of my lack of belief). Within one year I was earning a six-figure income. Within five years I was earning as much in one week as I had earned the entire year of 1997. And within ten years I was earning TEN TIMES THAT IN JUST ONE DAY!

I’m not giving you the before-and-after scenario as a means of bragging, as I’m very humbled by what happened. I’m sharing it with to you to emphasize this isn’t some get rich theory I read in a pie-in-the-sky book. This is what I’ve used -- and what
