A small group of weary convicts in orange jumpsuits gazed out at the quiet prison yard in front of them, pacing around and clutching hands to chests in an attempt to brace against the bitter evening cold of December. Huge eerie brick buildings and dirty bullet-ridden walls topped with twisted razor-wire towered around them in every direction. An otherworldly, screeching horn bellowed several times across the deserted yard to announce the beginning of another night in a place where there was little rest and no peace.
