My name is Percevale. I live on the edge of a forest filled with birds and secrets. And secrets, I do have. You don’t believe me? Go and see around the fountain or the cherry orchard. Lift the leaves, look under the rocks, listen to the wind. You don’t hear anything, really? This gentle murmur, that mysterious breath? Come with me, I will show you an enchanted world.

I sit down the rough grass, waiting for the pale dawn. The sun will light this landscape like a lightless abyss. For several days, I’ve
