About this ebook
Burning things and running from the cops was all that Francis thought about. Until while on the run her plans are interrupted by a group of men who insisted on being her boyfriends. One she could handle, two would be harder, but three...that was too many. Using her brains and a flame or two she managed to escape for a moment only to become trapped again.
Death was imminent so she made the only choice left to her and jumped. In that moment her fate was sealed and she received a new power. Now it is time for her to fight back against those that abused her.
Until he came along and ruined everything...
Now she would kill him.
She had killed others like him...it would be easy.

Born in a time before computers I had to use my imagination to keep me away from chores. Now that I am older, that same imagination comes in very handy with my writing. And I have always had an interest in writing. Even since grade school. However, I never really gave it a lot of thought in my youth...That is until the very early spring of 2006. I had just finished reading a story that frustrated me and I wondered if I could make a book that I would like to read. So I sat down at my computer, and decided to put some thoughts to the screen. A few hours later, and after some pestering from my wife about what I could possibly be doing, I had the beginnings of chapter 1 of one of my first books. But I had a lot to learn. Since that time, I have put that one aside at around 50,000 words. Put aside, but not forgotten. All of a sudden I had so many stories rushing to get out, I had to get them down! I started my second work and completed it, topping out at about 96k words. You can grab it now, entitled -The Event- in paperback ,or in E-Book format. I've started on the sequel entitled -Pockets of Paradise- when the editing of other works gets too rough. I have many short stories up on Amazon for you to check out, complete, in a handy collection available for free. Or grab one of my other stories from the Future Jumper series available now, with the fifth in the series, just released, in e-book format, or grab the entire collection in paperback! If you like some of the free works, be sure to check out my latest story, Mirror Thief, available now in paperback or e-book on Amazon. You will never look at your own reflection in quite the same way again. Thank you for taking the time to check up on me. Should you be interested in more, please stop in at my blog. Chapter 1
Why did it always rain in this god-forsaken city?
Francis trudged down the street. Her heavy, old, and worn, army boots kicked up enough water to soak her pant legs. Rain, always with the dreary rain, why she had ever run to this town to try to hide from the cops, she would never know.
Francis swore as a car drove by, hitting the puddle on the side of the road. A wave of water washed over her, and covered her from the waist down, leaving her with just a few dry spots on her clothes that the downpour hadn't managed to hit yet. Great…she made a mental note of the plate number as it sped away. Odds are Francis would never see that car again, but if she did, she hoped the owner had fire insurance.
Turning off the road, her water soaked boots made sloshing noises while climbing the chipped and broken stairs to her apartment. It rained inside the building almost as much as it did outside. The slumlord didn't care. It was apparent from the other tenants, and she couldn't make any hassle. She had to stay as quiet, and out of touch, as possible. If she expected to make a clean get away to a new town, she needed to remain anonymous. That included paying for this dump in cash, and that reminded her, she was almost out of cash.
The door to her apartment opened without a key. The slumlord hadn't offered her one, and she didn't bother to ask. Putting a lock on this place would have been pointless. Locks were for people who wanted to keep things safe. Nothing was safe around her. Most times, she liked it that way.
Once inside her hovel she saw someone ransacked it yet again. It was impossible for the intruders to understand she only needed this place to sleep. Everyone had something to hide, some possession to lock away from others, something unique to him or her alone. Francis
