Chapter I
Harvey and Bennie's grandma had returned the evening before. They had been gone for quite some time.
Yesterday evening, when I had been in the garden, Harvey had buzzed my head in the not so delightful way he has. I cannot forget he is a bee. Grandma had tugged on my shoestring again, and I had lifted her up to my pocket. Her greeting was sweet and friendly. Hello again, dear Plant Lady,
she smiled up at me. "We are so glad to be back with you and so ready to continue Bennie's story. I assured her I shared her happiness and after Harvey settled down and landed softly on my shoulder, I picked up my tools and we returned to my kitchen.
We spent the evening in quiet conversation and enjoyed an early bed time. I smiled myself to sleep.
I woke early, as usual. For a while I lay quietly in my bed, contemplating what the day might hold in store. I was listening to the silence when I heard soft laughter, so I rolled over to look down the side of my bed.
Grandma and Harvey were sitting on the toe of one of my fuzzy bunny slippers, waiting for me to wake. When they saw I was back from Dreamland, they greeted me warmly, and asked how soon we might be able to resume work. I did consider suggesting we needn't be in such a hurry, but decided that if they wanted to talk, I didn't have anything more important waiting for
