Precious the little bear has to go off all alone into the forest after her mother's paw got trapped between a tree root and a rock in a fast-rising, springtime stream. On this journey of hers, alone for the first time in the woods, Precious fortunately (or rather, unfortunately) meets several strange and new creatures, including a "Big Mountain Lion." All works out well for her in the end though.
