About this ebook
With no real life of her own, Priscilla Norwood's time is spent taking care of her wealthy great-grandmother. And to make matters more difficult, Betty Ann's state of mind worsens each day. Something evil is roaming the halls of the old family mansion. An errantly-thrown wine bottle, a deadly fire and the ghost of little Caroline combine to make The Shadows on Maple Lane a memorable thriller.
Harry McDonald
My name is Harry McDonald. I live in Georgia, and started writing short stories in 2005. Most of my writings are humorous, a bit improbable, and have a Southern touch. I also have an interest in writing horror/ghost stories, and Southern Gothic, and plan to mainly publish serious stories someday. My first stories published here are A Damned Old Man, My Garden Is Bigger Than Yours, The Man in the Moon is Japanese, The Party Line, Her Big Hair Nearly Killed Me, A Feast To Die, For A Down Home Feeling, The Iron Bed, The Shadows On Maple Lane, and The Elusive Chocolate Eclair. Just 99 cents each! My style is not one of putting everything I have into the first paragraph, or even the first page. You have to read on - for they only get better as you go! I have a lot to learn about doing covers, but will keep working on it. If you have a handsome face, you can fill in for my profile picture! Thanks for reading.

The entire Norwood family often gathered on Saturdays at the house on Maple Lane. Charles and Evelyn Norwood had built the large Long Island house, which was also home to their two young girls, Betty Ann, aged 11, and Caroline, aged 9. Grandparents, brothers and cousins would descend upon the home from miles around, and engage in food, songs and games until they were too tired to go on any longer.
Evelyn had enjoyed the merriment as much as anyone else, but on this day in 1924, something was different. Known only to her husband, she had not been her self for some time. She heard voices in her head, and claimed that shadows were following her throughout the house. Her doctor had prescribed sedatives, but
