INTRODUCTION
The journey of African-Americans has been a difficult and often brutal journey since the days of America’s founding. It has also been a steadily improving and increasingly rewarding journey for the black people. It has only been 45 years since Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. led the march on Washington to demand equal rights for black Americans.
Many average, everyday, hard-working Americans, both black and white, joined in the long struggle to secure our voting rights as guaranteed in the U.S. Constitution many years ago.
For this reason and many others it is so very important that black people not cast their votes arbitrarily or in ignorance of the facts.
It is equally important that we not be so easily swayed by those who rise to be recognized as leaders within the black community, simply thru their effectiveness at convincing media outlets that they speak for the African-American community. African-Americans have paid a high price for the right to vote and to participate in electing the political leaders of this country.
How foolish of us to allow national media outlets and certain civil rights organizations to appoint Black Leaders
, without the opportunity for those they profess to speak for to cast even a single vote. Once again, black people are being denied the right to vote, but in this case many are willing accomplices. Many just go along with the program. Some even rally around the self anointed when they are caught in lies, deceit, and outright fraud. When in trouble, all they have to do is reach into the deck and play the race card. An easy card to play since the deck is stacked with an unlimited supply of race cards.
As a curious and lifelong member of the Negro/Colored/Black/African-American community, the reasons my friends, relatives, and acquaintances in the black community have given for supporting Democrats has long intrigued and sometimes even puzzled me.
In Myth & Hypocrisy Exposed
, I provide you with the facts surrounding these beliefs, as well as a somewhat less than comprehensive accounting of how the black voting pattern has evolved over the years.
I hope you enjoy the book … it will make the pain of family exile more easy for me to endure.

- It’s a Well Known Fact That Democrats Are For The Poor! -
If I had a dollar for every time I’ve heard this statement given as someone’s reason for voting Democrat, I’d be as rich as Senator and former Democratic presidential candidate John Kerry. Well, maybe not quite that rich, but at least a millionaire.
My father is a lifelong Democrat and I have heard him make this statement many times. It’s sort of like the parrot that squawks, Polly want a cracker – Polly want a cracker.
No matter what you say to the parrot, its response is Polly want a cracker.
You move your face closer to the parrot’s cage and say, Would you like to get out of that stuffy little cage for a while, Polly?
Its response is, ------- Polly want a cracker.
You follow up with: There’s no nutritional value in crackers, Polly. If you don’t eat something else, you’ll die a horrible death and then I’ll have to flush you down the toilet.
The parrot looks into your eyes and responds, Polly want a cracker.
As I grew older and actually became interested in politics, although ever so gradually, I would sometimes ask my father and other loyal Democrats in my family what evidence they have that Democrats are for the poor. Basically, I would get the parrot response: Democrats are for the Poor - Republicans are for the Rich Democrats are for the Poor - Republicans are for the Rich.
Not once were any of them able to provide facts to support their beliefs. A lot of emotion but no facts, logic or even common sense.
Suggestion: If you have a belief but can’t offer factual evidence to support your belief, think it over. No matter how inconceivable it may be, and no matter how difficult it may be to face, you could be wrong … just a suggestion.
So just exactly what does that statement, Democrats are for the poor
, mean? What do people loyal to the Democratic Party mean when they say Republicans are for the rich? Does it mean that Congressional Democrats and Democratic Party leaders don’t like rich people?
That can’t be true because most of them are rich, and although you may find a few self haters here and there, they seem to get along very well with rich contributors to their Party and their campaigns, as well as with each other. This is a hard one to figure out.
Perhaps it means they sincerely believe their main mission is to help the poor get out of poverty and possibly to someday become rich themselves ... But that can’t be true either.
If they did that these formerly poor, working Americans would then become the evil rich, and Democrats would have no choice but to pursue them with higher taxes and take some of their new found wealth away.
This redistribution of wealth thing is a
