About this ebook
“Oh no! Tell me I didn’t see what I just saw.” Malcom said with dread. “You did see it and I don’t believe it myself” Barbara said with the most surprised yet melancholy look as they both watched the ocean where they were picking clams. They saw a mermaid with a green fishtail and black hair swim away going out to the deeper part of the ocean. This beach is usually deserted from the hub bub of the city and no one but Malcom knew of the clam bed that lies under the sandy beach, so Malcom thought. “Jessika and Thomas come here to your Mother!” What was a mermaid doing here in the Pacific Ocean by our Secret Clam beach? Could she be the Kaiwi mermaid? Barbara was watching her children now all alert and careful for anything else that might happen at their Secret Clam beach.

Chapter 1
We are not a prestigious or influential people, but we are just people living in Hawaii. One of the southernmost parts of the Hawaiian island chain is called the Big Island. The Big Island is where we Mahalons make our home. In ancient times we have fished the seas and oceans for our table. We are not rich, but not poor either. We have enough. We are the Mahalons of Kailua-Kona living at the Big Island of Hawaii. No, it’s mine give it back.
shouted Jessika. Jessika all of eight years old is the youngest Mahalon had just found a pretty sea shell. Her older brother Thomas just nine years old had other ideas about what to do with the sea shell. No way
yelled Thomas jeeringly taunting his little sister. Alright the two of you stop that! You’re Jessika’s older brother and you’re supposed to look after her Thomas. Give the sea shell to Jessika. Come here the both of you I want to have a talk with you.
Mrs. Barbara Mahalon is like any mother and her husband Malcolm got married ten years ago. A decade ago Barbara Ann Wisman got married to Malcom John Mahalon. They are happily married and know how to fish the oceans and rivers of the Big Island. Throughout the generations of Mahalons they were taught to be able to farm the oceans and rivers. Passed down throughout the generations were the secrets of harvesting the ocean and rivers that Barbara was so grateful for her table had lots of food for her family. Learning to gut fish, store sea food safely and how to cook any kind of sea food was a joy for Barbara who had majored in
