About this audiobook
The scene of this entertaining story is laid in a charming English village. The plot centres round Miss Barbara Buncle, a maiden lady who was obliged to write a book because – as she naively explained – her dividends were so poor. Unfortunately, Miss Buncle had no imagination, so she wrote about her friends – quite kindly and truthfully, of course, for she was a benevolent and veracious soul.
The reactions of her friends to Miss Buncle’s book, however, were a little surprising, and the far-reaching and unexpected results of its publication caused quite a stir.
D.E. Stevenson
D.E. Stevenson (1892-1973) had an enormously successful writing career; between 1923 and 1970, four million copies of her books were sold in Britain and three million in the United States.

- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5This book is positively hilarious !
It's a good example of how people respond when they hear the truth of what they are like , instead of only what they want to hear and what they want others perceive them to be. - Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5The audiobook is fantastic! Ive listened to it 3 times. The reader does a phenomenal job and is Miss Buncle to me. The story is very cozy. You follow Miss Buncle and her neighbors through every day like and small town drama. I've been meaning to check out more of D.E. Stevenson's work, even the sequel to this book, but keep listening to this one instead.
