So Emerson has been my favorite from the very beginning and his book did not disappoint! I loved how we got to see his flaws in this one, because in the previous books, we didnt know he had any haha. He has been the most sensitive, most romantic of the bunch and we get to learn about some huge secrets he has been keeping for 10-15 years. I loved his family, I wish we could have more from them, like what women or men they find in the future, because of how close they are, how funny and adorable they all seemed. In terms of the story, we get to learn about the lore from lives past, see how people get to live outside the confines of the lottery, how the men could fit into that world if things were different, and get to see Tia progress in her pregnancy and comes to terms of the shocking news haha. I won't give anything away, but some of the other men step up and my clear favorite had a run for his money, that's for sure!

Narration again was good, the heartbreak from Emerson was palpable, the love and fear the others exuded when it comes to Tia, the babies, and the baddies trying to get her. I couldn't not give this one 5 stars, I almost listened to it in one sitting ❤️
